Red face Titan 1 Deer 0

Well it happened I hit my first Deer with the Titan last night at about 8pm. I was going 40mph or less when a deer jumped across the road and stopped in front of me. I had the family in the truck and no one was hurt well except the deer(it did a couple of flops right in front of the truck) it got up and took off. Luckily it was a fairly small Doe or fawn and no rack. Once I was sure everyone in the car was fine I feared the worse for my Titan. I must have hit him dead on with the chrome metal center bumper. Doesn't seem to have a scratch on her just some deer drool /spit but I think the left side panel might be a little lower or it could just be poor body part alignment from the factory I can't tell. I have to wash her up and take a better look in the daylight. All I know is if we had been in my wifes 98 Grand prix there most likely been a lot more damage and possibly some injuries. Pics to come soon

Yeah I could try and run that by the wife not sure if I like em or not well maybe the bull bar. But I may end up having to pay to get things straight and aligned it would definitely be under my $500 deductable.

The Passenger side of the black bumper cover looks lower (excuse the old wax may be evidence it came from the factory like that) but I'm not sure

If you look right below the fan you can see what looks like a big smudge on the bumper and that is where I think I hit him center mass of my bumper.

Got away clean...

Looks like you really lucked out ( We hope the deer did the same ) You know...until I just had the A/C TSB done yesterday, I really had never looked straight into the front of the Titan...seeing your pic and looking at mine yesterday...there is no kind of grill or screen or anything in front of the radiator on that lower opening. One good rock or piece of wood or really anything good sized ( Deer hoove ?) and that radiator is damaged. Might consider one of those grill kits now....

Do the finger gap test, but it looks fine to me. Almost all truck bumpers seem to be off alittle. You dont notice till you look. I think its the way the front of a truck is designed, cause i notice it on trucks but never cars.

also, if anything, i think the impact would have actually pushed the bumper up.

If it were me I would have chased that deer because it couldn't have been too hard catch after you stunned it and I do love deer sausage.
Glad you and yours are fine and can I get a general location on the wounded deer in question?

My bumper shifted to the right about 1" (after hitting a mountain). Took it to a buddy that owns a body shop and had him push it over. He told me that the front bumper has alot of spring in it. What that means I don't know. But it was scary watching him twisting, pushing, and hammering on my truck. It's all good now, and didn't take long (35-45min).

Hey, have you tried loosening the bumper brackets and pulling up on the left side a little...then re-tighten? You should be able to align it right back up.

Dude are you serious? That method sounds suspect to me.

Ok after re-reading your post.. I see that you probably bent the brackets and your buddy was bending them back.

In Mopars case it looks to be a simple alignment issue...probably from the factory...so simply loosening the brackets and pulling up should fix it right up.

Yeah..all bumpers should be able to be aligned. I can't see bending metal as the only way to get it to line up.
