I had the judder at 4000 miles, and now past 10,000 miles it has not returned. Has this happened to anyone else. They only turned the rotors, and I would like the new bigger rotors and pads.
Yeah, I got the letter also. MY truck was built in March '05 and I don't know if it has the new brakes or not. I have nearly 11,000 miles and have not experienced any brake judder to this point. Nice to know I've got a 36K miles safety blanket.

Hey guys, it's been awhile. I got a letter several weeks ago about the "judder". I have yet to have any problems w/ my truck. None at all. Knock on wood. It is good to know that Nissan will take care of it though.

I brought my truck in for brake judder and a few other issues today. The service rep said that most likely they would replace the rotors with the upgrade kit without me even having to ask for it.

bought 7/04 and haven't seen the letter yet but have been getting the judder fixed under warranty without problem. did the pre-fixes twice and got the so called permanent fix this last time about 2 months ago. i'm at 21,000 now.
Had the first temporary fix done at 8,000 miles and the "permanent" fix done just this past June at around 15,000 miles. No brake problems at all since then.
Now, my next step is to try and get them to fix my leaking rear diff which looks like it came off of a 1974 Chevy pickup with 1.2 million miles.

Got mine today. I have already had the upgraded parts installed and have had no problems ever since. I am going to take the letter to the dealership and have them add a copy to my file "just in case" somthing happens in the future.

If you've already had the upgraded parts installed, I think the letter doesn't pertain to you. The way I'm reading it, that extended warranty only deals with people that either A) haven't had the brake judder problem yet, or B) HAVE had the brake judder but HAVE NOT had the upgraded parts installed. Am I right on this, or am I just not understanding the letter correctly?
Got the truck back yesterday. They had a kit in and went ahead and swapped my rotors out. Stops like a new truck, with less fade. This also fixed the play in the brake pedal. So no more hitting the floorboard to stop. I asked them to reflash the ECU and they did (The service rep said they would of done it any way with the brake swap to recalibrate the ABS system.) Boy does that make a difference! No throttle lag now. Really nice!

You are probably correct, but I am going to cover my a$$ and take the letter to the dealer anyway. I prefer to error on the side of caution on this one in case anything ever goes wrong with the brakes in the future.

Nothing wrong with that....I just wanted to make sure that we're all on the same page as far as that letter goes (no pun intended).
I went to the dealer to check on them installing electric seats I had bought and they told me about the brake issue and replaced them for me with out the letter. He said they can do the replacement if the customer complains about it.
Wolfrrr
I didn't get the letter up here in Canada, however, on my 4th visit on Sept. 20 to have my discs machined, the dealership finally has the O.K. to order in the new set hardware. I was told that nothing could be done until my fourth visit or until a minimum thickness (NOT THE SKULLS OF THE SERVICE DEPT.) of the rotors was met. I should be a happy camper in a couple of weeks on my FIFTH visit in 9 months for the judder issue.
I have an 04 and I dont really have any problems with my breaks... however I feel like I would love to have the "better engineered" parts. I got the letter, should I just go in and say I am having break problems? Or just be happy my original breaks are working well? I have aftermarket rims/tires, and I would love to not have to clean them everyday if this break fix would help. What would you guys do?
