Question frame problem?

if you are at the back of the truck looking at the back window, the bed is not level with the cab, i took measurments on the frame and springs and the right side is higher than the left side, in back by about an inch and in the front by about an 1/8 of an inch, that tells me that something in the back of the truck is wrong. by the way the body is also off right to left, front too back. the rear wheelwells are off by about 1.25 of an inch. both rear spring have been replaced by the dearler and that didn't fix it. they want to try and shim the bed and adjust the bumper to make it look level, but thats not fixing the problem. has anyone found what is causing this? i know i'am not the only one that has this problem. thanks!! jim

It is caused by the massive amounts of TQ and HP the Titan Motor makes. It makes so much power it twists the frames.

I do see the issue with my truck but I think it is not as extreme. I need to look much closer at it. Thanks for getting me thinking about this issue again.

I have the same problem with my truck. I don't think that the bed is off, rather that the entire frame doesn't sit level. I wouldn't let them shim the bed. I hate it when dealers just want to put a band-aid on the problem. There are times that the difference on my truck is up to 2.5", but usually just about 3/4".
My opinion is that is has to do with the majority of the weight being on the driver's side (driver and fuel). Over time, the left spring just gets more use and sags. But I've been proven wrong on many things before.

I just took a look at mine....it looks level. I can't seem to find a tape measure, but the extremely scientific way of measuring with a stick and a marker shows me that my bed is pretty close to even....

is your gas tank full, the gas tank is on the left side and 28 gallons is about 230lbs (8.33lbs per gallon)

it stays the same if the tank is full or empty. even the right shock is extended more than the left one, dealer said that it's do to the shocks being mounted one in front of the axle and one in back of the axle. not sure if that's ture on not?

Only if you are filling your tank with water. Gas weighs around 6.5lbs per gallon. Come on man, use that Clemson noggin', you're making us look bad.

I've got the same problem with my pickup, had them change the leaf spring on the drivers side...as the problem was the bed sits lower on that side. A full tank of gas didn’t matter either.

Changing the leaf spring at the time looked like it solved the problem but I’m seeing the problem reoccur and believe it or not some days or better than others. Very strange. I'm not really sure what to do about it and my dealer says there are no adjustments to level the bed.

We should all get together and complain to Nissan. I've seen other titans on the road with the same problem.

Does anyone think this is a lemon issue?

I don't.

Have you tried to get your dealer to repair it, have they kept it from you for many days and is the problem still not fixed?

Then you might, emphasis on might, have a lemon issue.

Check the lemon laws for your state.
