Question Mysterious Window Problem

I have had my Titan since 7/02/2004 with a born on date of 3/2004. I have noticed a mysterious problem with my front door windows opening on their own. When I came home and locked the truck up and hit the anti-theft everything is fine. But, I came out one morning to find both fron windows rolled down, nothing missing or messed around with thank goodness. Today I pulled into my store and locked my truck down as usual rolling all the windows up and locking the doors. I am in the store when a customer comes in and asks if anyone has a new truck with the windows down because a thunderstorm had come up. I thought no way but as I go out I see the windows down again and rain just pouring into the windows. I checked and when I hit the unlock button on the door panel from outside the alarm starts blaring. This truck is all factory with no alterations whatsoever. Is anyone else having this weird problem? I have had no other things to complain about and love the truck. I have put about 2500 miles on it since I have had it becuase I just like the fun driving experience. I would imagine this is just something I will have to keep a check on and see if it happens to anyone else or do I just have this little gremlin in my truck who likes to mess with my windows. Let me know how all of ya'll are doing with your Titans and if you have any wierd problems like I have had.

I had the windows open once without me knowing it. I assumed that I bumped the fob for 5 seconds while at work. Could that have been your problem?

Titan UP,
Do you keep your keys in your pocket? If so, try to put them somewhere safe and away from kids (I know from experience) and see if this doesn't solve your problem. There are many threads on here of people stating that they keep their keys in their pocket and their windows are down the next time they go out. I left my keys in the reach of my 2 year old and sure enough a rain storm christened the inside of my truck. The reason this happens, in case you didn't know, if you hold the unlock button down on the alarm key pad (fob) the windows roll down. Let me know how you do.

hold down the unlock on the key fob until they go down, usually 2-3 seconds.

I had the dealer install a aftermarket alarm with remote start and my windows once in a while do the same by the way i lost the roll down windows with the remote so would this be a wiring problem or what because i know its not normal

My 04 Titan did the same thing. Also, my window switch's would sometimes work in reverse. I would do to put the drivers side up and passenger side would go down. I never got it fixed. With all of the other problems I had, the dealer bought my 04 back and I got a new 05 as a replacement.

Mysterious window

Folks,

It's a TSB that Nissan is aware of.

I went to the Dealer (Southern States in Apex, NC) and the Service Consultants said they are aware of the problem and will fix it.

NOW when I went to the Southern States in Raleigh, NC, the Service Consultants said "Cannot duplicate" and blew me off.

Ask them whether or not it's a TSB first and then ask how they can check to see if this is occurring intermittently on your vehicle.

Good luck.

Well your first problem was going to Southern States in Raleigh. I live just 10 minutes away from this dealership and I bought my Titan clear out at Michael Jordan Nissan in Durham. Their service department has been outstanding. I have had a huge laundry list of items replaced/repaired on my Titan and MJ Nissan has never questioned me once. This list includes (brakes, brake fix, rear window, seat frame 2x, pull handle 2x, radio-fade issue, exhaust manifold-tick, steering wheel audio control). Southern States in Raleigh including their VW dealership has the worst reputation (which I am adding to here). Give MJ Nissan a try if it's close by. Apex is about the same distance from me as Durham, but I work in RTP and Durham is closer. To get back on the topic of this thread; I have had this window thing happen to me 1 time. I just thought I left the windows open. I am glad I learned about the fob thing.

Keep in mind that, when you use the window roll down feature on the key fob, if you don't open a door within about 30 seconds the doors will re-lock and the alarm will re-arm.
