I really wanted to spend around 3 grand for a fully loaded LE CC 4x4. I think I know what dealer I will be getting my truck from. Wait, there is a $2250.00 rebate. $750 bucks, WOW.
alot of those vehicles will probably still be good, just sold as salvaged.
Once it flooded in my home town, and a local junkyard bought alot of vehicles that had water up to the windshield.
They drained all the fluids, cleaned the interior, then re-sold them as flood salvaged. Some were not even new cars, actually, most were not.

i think the ones on the left side faired better. Due to the crud on the windshields.

They will never be right... My 5 liter Mustang only got flooded to about 4 inches below the door handles and was never the same again. You will always get a "swampy" smell on humid days, and they will be electrical nightmares.
I'd love to have any of these for parts, but I'd never want to use the complete truck. First thing I'd do is strip and trash the interior.
Those vehicles will be sold off as scrap. However, people will need to be on the look out for a great deals on a Titan or any cars. Due to differences in state laws and lack of communication between state governments, the vehicles bought by salvagers (cheap) will have a "Junk" title in Louisiana. The salvager just simply takes them to a new state and claim they lost the title. The state (some states not all) will most gladly give them a "new" vehicle title. The vehicle is sold as new low mile vehicle and the unsuspecting buyer has to deal with the problems. Nissan or any other auto manufacturer wouldn't be responsible for any repairs since the vehicle was written off as junk (warranty null and void). I believe 20/20 or one of those shows did a show on this topic a few years ago.

Just take it to a dealer and tell them the A/C drain is leaking.
Can't tell if 04 and 05 Titan's. Buyers beware!!!! a few months from now; check under dash and any other location it will be hard to remove all the flood residue. The dent remover guy at the stealer I bought my titan from said he had been contracted to remove hail damaged dents (said it was tough job but the pay was good) from a large number of vehicles. He took out a small hood dent on my Titan, couldn't find where it was afterward. WOW, maybe my Titan was hail damaged and I didn't know it. Oh well, my dent appeared to be from someone pressing down on the hood when closing??? A stealer could detail, change fluids, replace interior stuff and sell them as new as long as no salvage records were generated. My 95 Olds was bought from a rental company by a stealer, accident damage to whole drivers side was relaced, sold to me as low mileage used car. No info. of accident. Later, I found small pcs. of glass and noticed other repair stuff upon closer examine.
If the dealer would sell me one of those for $5000,I would buy it.Unfortunately,I don't have $5000,and I don't picture a dealer bothering to sell one that cheap.
You guys are correct.I would be extremely suspicious of any low mileage car being sold in the next year.Unfortunately this will make my Titan-about 9000 miles-much harder to sell if I wanted to move to a 2005 FFV CC XE 2WD from the 2004 KC XE 2WD.
Hmmm,a really talented detailer-fixer can clean those babies up and make it all but impossible to detect the flood water.
1)Pull carpet pressure wash with detergent touch of bleach.Dry in dryer.
The fabrics they use seem to be really mold-mildew resistant.
2)Pressure wash-not very high, maybe 200 psi max- entire interiorfirewall- to remove all traces of grit and waterlines behind dash etc(these are places that are missed, and places you are supposed to check to find occult flood evidence.).Same story for engine bay.Same story for underside of ttruck, but with really high pressure. They want to remove all that fine silt, and the water line marks.
l3)The interior fabric-seats might be tricky, and might be a best bet to detect the flood.Peal some fabric back, and take a long sniff.Look for the very fine silt that might be deposited in the foam.It will be pretty expensive to replace the seat fabric-foam with factory materials,so look for aftermarket fabric(fancy interior-maybe even leather-aftermarket leather is probably cheaper than OEM "cloth" and would be a sneaky selling point".
Take a good look at the seller. He will know what he is selling you-the price might be too good to be true, since he will make a profit at a very low selling price.Thanks.Charlie
I wouldn't mind getting one of those rear OR (w/locker) differential to swap out mine. Anyone knows how I can buy one of those rear diff from a flood salvage Titan?

BUZZKILLWILL,hmmm, good point,I bet they won't need painting, but it would be a good idea to be suspicious of undercoating.Sneaky MF's will pressure wash the underside, and if there is tell tale rust lines etc they might just do a cheapo undercoating to obscure the rust line.
KOVMAN,yep there will be lots of good parts on these vehicles.I would guess that maybe the new stock will be covered by insurance,so the dealers won't have a hand in it.Might not be able to buy any of these from a dealer.I would like to get the parts-maybe tank,lines,O2 sensor,ECU etc to make mine a FFV vehicle.Maybe I could put my good motor-trans in a 2005 CC LE etc.

You could pull the carpet and anything SOFT out and replace it. Most would probly be ok mechanically.....except for the whole water in the intake and probly cylinders, but aside from that, they ought to fire right up.
