Short answer, no. It's a factory installed option, and at the moment there are no aftermarket options.

If you go check out Four Wheeler's Project Titan, you'll see the only way (that I've seen) you can get a locker aftermarket. Short story there is the axle company Dynatrac built a custom Dana 60 and stuffed an ARB air locker in it. THe only drawback is that it probably cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$

I heard somewhere if you have th Big tow you might be able just hook up the switch to the plug on the diff wiring and voila. This is strictly rumor(maybe someone else can say for sure??) haven't verfied wether the Big tow diff is the same as the OR as the rumor goes but may check it out in the future not sure how the wiring goes though??
Anyone one know about this?? I can't find where I found this tidbit and I've been searching(I know I saw it on one of the titan forums there are like 8 or so and I usually only view TT or CT)

He already had the E locker. It only works in one mode - 4L, i believe. He just modded it to work in any mode.

The 06 have the option now to have both the big tow and e locker. So if I have the BT and the OR package, I wonder what I would have to do to get the e locker now??????????????

His was an April '04 build, which was prior to the E-LOCK introduction. Mine was build in May '04 and has it.

The site doesn't have you input the details of your truck to that level. The list just comes up for Titans.

Both BT an OR have the lower gears, but the locker version has some different/additional hardware, i.e. the ring and pinion, solenoid, etc. to engage.

I would think it is possible to replace some of these parts, and wire it up to a switch, and as someone mentioned Austin's mod explains a lot about the control wiring at the fuse box.

But safer as far as reliability would be to replace the whole rear as a single unit. If you used an '06, you could also get VDC that works when the E-LOCK isn't engaged.

I'm just gonna wire a door lock actuator to it and be done with it!!!
JK lol
It definitely gets confusing too bad we don't have some compoarison pics of a e-lock and bt or someone who has one and tore it down to compare and see if it really is a possibility of justadding some electrical components. Also makes wonder which diffs are failing OR, BT or OR & BT combo

Mis-information...

A locking rear will have a COMPLETELY different carrier than an open differential. The Big Tow will not have the locker in the first place, therefore, you can't just "hook up a wire" and lock it. Impossible! Any wires you see on the top of a differential that IS NOT an off-road package truck are going to be for a sensor for the tone ring inside.

If you WANT the locking diff, you can order the carrier, carrier bearings, ring and pinion, pinion bearing, and the associated seals and electronic wiring and have a shop (Nissan, 4x4 shop, race shop) install the parts. It's no different than working on any other type of solid axle vehicle (D60, D44, 14 bolt, 8.8, D35, blah blah). You DON'T need to replace the WHOLE axle assembly as somebody above stated, that's just asinine.
