Tire pressure light!?!?!

Ok, here's one that I hope isn't but suspect is a dealer fix: I've had my new tires on for 3 weeks now (love 'em!!) and earlier last week, my truck convinced itself that it has a flat tire and proceeded to inform me with that annoying beep and low tire pressure light. I figured that it would go out eventually, drive for a while and heat up the tires, not drive for a day and hope the computer resets, checked tires (all at 30psi cold) to no avail. Is a call to Nissan in my future to reset the sensors?

I don't know what size tire you have but I think the sensors are doing exactly what they should be doing. If you are running anything close to OEM tires they should have a min. of 35 psi cold.
BTW, mine are the BFG Rugged trail 285/70/17s.

Sounds like a common problem for some, but I've never had the light come on and I'm running 22s. Could possibly be bad sensors or a leak.

Definitely not a leak, brand spankin new tires. Plus the light lit up and sounded the beep when I got a flat running over some random piece of metal on a trail last summer so I KNOW the system works like it should.

Well how about you try 35psi like recommended on the door jamb? Why run low and wear your tires, lower fuel mileage?

Brand spanking new tires doesnt guarantee no leak...most common leak on the sensors is when the tire tech pulls the core out of the valve stem to deflate your old tires really fast and doesnt put them back in tight. I had 3 other friends with titans have at least one new tire leak after replacing tires ( Myself also ) and it was a loose core. Get one of those 99 cent all in one core tools at autozone and crank them down. Also make sure the nut is cinched down good on all the sensors. My left rear was going down and triggering the sensor about twice a week..after tightening the cores and nuts not one time has it lost air or triggered in the last month.

Success!!! Don't know why 4wheel parts only inflated them to 30, but at least all the valve stems were tight. Thanks for the tip on that, at least they made sure those were tight. Everything's at 35 and no more light!

I don't think that applies to his situation. He hears the beep along with the light, so the sensor was picking up a "real" flat, not just a fault in the system.

If I get new a new rim & tire package sent to me already mounted and balanced and put them on with no sensors, will I get the beep? Because I can save a ton of money this way, but would hate to have this beep and light on!

You won't get the beep, just the light after about 45 minutes of continuous driving. It resets itself every time the ignition is shut off.

Titan1080: You got any good pics of the truck with those Mud Terrains yet?

I'm looking at putting either the MTs or the All-Terrains on mine.

How 'bout gas mileage? Have you noticed any change?
