Top Speed Limiter?

I replaced my worn out stock tires with slightly shorter(but wider) tires.
I am positive I remember the truck govorning at exactly 180 kph. Now with the shorter tires it governs at approx 177/178 kph on the speedo. Could our truck possibly have a rev limiter in the particular gear that it reaches these speeds at?

if you change wheel/tire size, isn't it recommended to re-calibrate speedo?

search for a local shop...(an article that shows the differences due to tire and wheel size)....

Googgle search might work for local area, or a yellow pages, but for 2 or 3 kph at top speed...it's probably not off by that much everywhere...

How can you register a 2-3kph change in speed by the speedo? That's either 1.2 or 1.9 mph.

You can use a quality GPS unit to find out changes in speed due to changes in tire size. Just compare before and after numbers.
