Yet another tire size question...

I've searched and searched but can't find the answer to my question. Here we go:

I'm tired of the crappy Rugged Trails that came on my '04 LE Crew Cab and want to upgrade to something better. I've always had success with the BFG All-Terrain on other vehicles I've owned ('99 Chevy ZR2 and an '01 Tundra) and have considered putting them on the Titan. Question is, can I go to the larger size (LT315 70R17) or will they scrub on my front end?

I have the PRG front-end lift although it almost appears as if the truck is back in "stock" position after the front end trouble I had last December (another story documented in another thread on this forum).

Anyway, is the 315 a possibility or should I simply stick with the 285?

Thanks in advance!

I think stock, you are going to get some pretty good rub in the front. Even if you do not, the tires are going to look too freakn' big for the wheelwell. Any bumps/holes you run through you are going to get some rubbing etc. I would stick with 285's. They are still a nice size looking tire for that truck.

Hey, I'm happy you were able to get your truck back, I was wondering how it came out. I have posted a few times on having 315s on my truck. I went a little higher than PRGs kit but it's only a little 3inch vs 2inches. I was able to fit them on and only bent back the pinch weld behind the front tires. This was very easy and I don't have any rubbing at all. Check out some of my other posts, I have pics of the before and after too. I think the truck looks better with the larger tire and with out a large lift. PRGs kit, or like the one Ihave from NE is great.
