Yes, confirmation somewhere within design. I can not get into much detail because these boards are monitered heavily by Nissan. Yes, toyota is coming with a diesel, but so is the Titan in a 1/2 ton within the next two years.

The comment about "isn't that a little soon" is BS. Remember, were not talking Ferd or GM. The Old Big 3 are the ones that take forever to come out with a vehicle. Any one else can pump out vehicles much faster. I love it that everyone doubts me. I'll be here for a long time as I will be buying a new truck in 2010. And when Nissan finally goes public, I'll be right here saying "TOLD YOU SO!!!!" Oh yea, that right. I'll wait 1 year after SOP (that would be Start of Production for those not in the auto industry) to buy a new platform/vehicle. I did that with my Titan and as many of you with '04's know, there were some issues.

Oh yea, turbo diesel of course.

Since you seem to know oh-so-much... will it be a straight 6 like a diesel SHOULD be, or a V8?

That statement alone is enough to realize this guys talking out his azz. How many 1/2 ton Diesels you know of? And he can't get into details because Nissan sees these forums?...LMAO, nice try but.....looking more foolish with every word. I'm not too worried about being told "I told you so" at this point...not until more solid evidence is given.

Why is everyone so excited about a HD pick-up truck. I mean do you imagine that in 2009 gas would be any cheaper than it is right now?

I dont have any links but someone on CT posted a link that supposidly confirmed a 5.5l diesel in the 1/2 ton Titan and the HD with a bigger diesel would come later. Now I am not saying that I know or can confirm any of this but if Nissan did make a 1/2 ton diesel it would make alot of sense to me. Plenty of pulling power better fuel mileage and it would be the only 1/2 ton TD out there I would seriosly consider one myself if any of this is true. I am not going to hold my breath though.

A 1/2 ton Diesel would be kind of moronic. Why bother?....you'd just be wasting all that HP and TQ. Now a 3/4 or 1 ton ok but....not a 1/2 ton.

Why put a diesel in a VW jetta, or a Tacoma. It would not be moronic it is a more efficent engine that is why they are being used in smaller vehicles they are very popular in europe because of the mileage they get. Now if they put something like the 5.9l cummins in the titan yeah that would be moronic because that motor would far exceed what the frame could handle but a smaller diesel would be legit.

There was a rumor on here somwhere that the titan might get a 4.6 liter international diesel. I hope they produce one of there own diesels for the titan.
