Seat Problem

First time posting, I've had many issues with my Titan, but thought I'd post this one since I haven't seen it mentioned yet. Don't know how long it's been like this, but I noticed today when I went to adjust the driver's seat. So basically a heads up to all you may wanna look at your seats if you haven't noticed this. Hopefully mine is the only seat to do this...

The driver's side seat material completely popped out of its housing where it should fold up under. The area of the seat bottom where your calfs would hit. I'm going to try and show you the pic I took. If it works one will be of the drivers side and the other is the unaffected passenger side. Will take it into the dealer soon to see what they have to say, just thought Id post this.

Sounds like warranty work...Didn't see if you had an 04 or 05. Just make sure they tell you how they fixed it.

After less than 8k, I've had my brakes done, new water pump, and a piece on the steering wheel replaced due to finish issues.

Welcome by the way! I still love my TITAN.

I have an '04 KC SE, born on date of dec '03. 19,600 miles.

To date Ive had the brake judder fixed, radiator cap replaced twice, overhead console replaced, steering wheel bezels replaced for paint chipping, drivers side door handle replaced for bubbling (needs to be replaced again), tire pressure sensor reset numerous times(needs to be done again), rear seat belts replaced per recall, rear diff fluid replaced, secondary drivers side sun visor needs to be replaced (broke and just hangs loosely), and to boot a godawful noise coming from the rear area sounding as if my KC rear passenger side window is going to fall out(took to Nissan and they said they could not duplicate the noise, kinda hard to do with only them putting 3 miles on the truck while they had it and you have to go over bad roads to get the sound, which the roads are smooth by the dealership) Think I may change the dealership I go to. Those are my issues so far. I love the truck though, just hate dealing with service dept.

Took the truck in for an oil change and after they bashed me for taking it to walmart to get the oil changed previously I got the truck home just to find out they never retightened the drain plug and i was leaking oil. Nissan has no right to bash walmart when they cant even tighten a drain plug properly.

Sorry for the long info, but also to add, found this website a while back and just love all the information I've found on it. Thanks again yall.

This isn't much of a problem, but..... when I sit on the edge of my seat while getting in, my butt hits the seat back tilt. Before I know it the darn thing is tilting forward and pushing me toward the steering wheel.

Just something too laugh about.....

Good luck to you!

You have the same material I have in mine. I haven't seen your problem yet because with 29,000 I have replaced the driver's side bottom 4 times and the passenger 3 times and passenger rear once, due to the seat material coming apart. Haven't had time for the material to come loose like yours.

The problem that you, like mine, will have, is if you look closely at the horizontal thread, it looks like fishing line. That will seperate from the dark material that the back of your thighs rest against. So you will end up with "fishing line" material sticking out.

I have tried to convince Nissan that they have a problem with the material. They have replaced the seats with the warranty, they have to do that. What I am concerned about is, what's going to happen after 36,000? Since I have evidence that this is a material defective, (over 3 replacements for me and over 30 people on this site have the same problem), Nissan needs to either extend the warranty or replace the material with new. I have requested to speak to a supervisor on the Nissan customer service line since February 05 and none have called. I was told that one would call within 24 hours, but after 5 calls I believe I am just #!$$!%* in the wind. The dealer sales department told me that is pretty standard. If the super either doesn't want to talk to the customer or doesn't want to get involved they will not call back. After all what is the customer going to do, turn Nissan in to themselves!

Good luck with your problem. Keep a close I on the "fishing line" problem. That stuff will stick you in the leg. Some people are cutting the loose ends off or melting with a lighter. Not me, $30,000 rig should need no sissors or a lighter to repair the obvious!

I don't see a problem, more area to wipe those nasty boogers off your finger.

Kidding aside, I haven't had that problem with my cloth seats. Hope Nissan finds a fix.

I have the leather seats and today I noticed the the vinyl edgeing is starting to crack after only seven months. What really pisses me off is that only the center of the seats are leather ,everything else is vinyl crap. I'd willingly pay a few hundred more to have a true leather seat.
