console shifter

A couple of times I put the truck in park and couldn't turn or remove the key. It turns out that the shifter handle is sticking to the right side of the gate and as soon as I tap it to the left I can hear the solenoid click and the key can be turned and removed. The service manager said to stick the little tube from a can of silicone between the shifter and the plack plastic surrounding it at the base and give it a short blast. I was at the dealer to order a new seat cover and since the truck wasn't in the shop I asked him what "I" could do to fix it. Just a heads up if it happens to anyone else...

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.

Happened to me once. The shifter actually was stuck in D, it just would not turn over or shift out. I just shoved it into park, and nothing since. There is supposed to be a release mechanism under the tab (small circular) at the bottom. I guess you pop it off and press something inside or something.
