well as long as it comes with all the hardware and filter you should be good to go. i dont know how you would really mess an intake up. if its the updated version complete i would go for it!

Volant does not publish the specifications of their filter material. The Volant I bought (properly installed and oiled) allowed a LOT of dirt into my engine. I pulled it off one day to clean it and you could see the visible dust inside the tube. Not good. I contacted Joe at Volant with the problem. Nice guy, but all said and done, he is selling a filtering element that has absolutely no published rating.

I tossed it and went to a K&N filter, still using the Volant tube. K&N publishes not only their filter specs on their website, but also independent laboratory reviews of their filters.

My Volant box housing also created a horrible drone inside the cabin of my truck despite repeated attemps to eliminate it. From my readings though, most other buyers have not experienced this drone. Some have, but I'd have to fairly say that most have not. In my cae, it was so bad, that I tossed the box and lid.

That's my .02 anyway.

Regards,

John

I have been happy with my Volant and have had no issues with the version 2. No dust in my intake tube plus I run a pre-filter. I have the Ram Air tube and the prefilter is just insurance against wet and sand. No noise from the box or unit until it's WOT.

You should not have any problems with the used Volant if all the hardware is there and the filter has been properly maintained.

Is he giving you two filters and a recharge kit too?

Other than cleaning it up, the stuff looks like it's good to go.

I got mine from Jamie at TitanParts247, a sponsoring vendor. That's also where I got my Volant.
