Unhappy CD player (stock) stopped working!!

If anyone can help, It would be appreciated. Our stock CD player (type D) wont switch to CD mode. We hear about 3 short beeps and thats it. The radio will play fine but the CD is just out. I cant change disks, eject them, nothing with the CD player. My husband's friend mentioned resetting the radio but I dont see how.

Anyone been in this spot before? Any advise?

BTW - Its a 2004 model....

As far as resetting the radio, I know that disconnecting the negative battery cable for awhile will clear the station presets.

Ahhh! I have a simple solution for this. I don't know much but I'm pretty sure I know the solution to this problem.

You forgot to insert a quarter!

Just tell the dealer and they will replace the unit. Takes about 20 minutes... no biggie

Except the dealer will want to send the old unit back to Nissan with your CDs trapped inside.

As far as I know if they replace your CD player, the discs in the old player will be returned to you after the manufacturer opens the unit.

I too had a problem bacause I forgot (it was in the manual, doh!)that a CD with a paper label CAN'T be used with the cd player. I took my radio out and opened the cd player and removed the cd that was causing the trouble. It's been at least 6 monts now and never has happened again.

My cousin had this problem in his Infinity, his cd was returned later to him. The problem with his was warp cd's. Thats why I eject mine once a week, had same problems before in a Mitsubishi.

When I got my truck last January, it skipped constantly when playing discs (burned from computer or originals). I always meant to take it in but was really more worried about major mechanical stuff (luckily didn't have any)... anyway, the skipping went away and I never really throught much about it... Well, as it gets colder and turns to fall, the skipping is back... I think I am going to wait until I am sure I can get the one that plays MP3's....
