Smile Happy birthday to me! I`m now 43.

I woke up Sept 28th and turned on the computer. I had mail. It was from Titantalk wishing me a happy birthday. The first time anyone had wished me happy birthday on this day. It was almost like destiny. I have been following this website for over a year now. I first drove a 2004 Titan and fell in love. I wanted one right then. But I wanted to wait and find out what the trucks strengths and weaknesses were. I drove ford, chevy, gmc, dodge and toyota trucks. I quickly eliminated the ford, gmc, and chevy. Then the dodge. Last March I factory order through my local dealer a Toyota Tundra. It didn`t arrive until the end of July. When it came in it was beautiful. Just the truck I ordered. It was the right choice for me. It made sense from a financial, practical, reliability, resale, quality, and emotional standpoint. It was when I went to sign the paperwork that I then realized I wanted more in a truck. Pizzazz, power, fun to drive, roominess, size, ability. I sacrificed my $1000.00 deposit and said no. Now I was feeling a little foolish and depressed about ordering what was a "good business decision" in a truck; and not taking delivery.
Last December 31st I went to the Nissan dealer 1/2 mile down the road from the Toyota dealer and they were only going to give me $10,800 for my Camry while Toyota was offering $11,500. So I declined. When I went to pickup my factory ordered Tundra in July and said no they offered me $12,300 for my Camry. The 28th I went to Burien Nissan which is near Seattle. I walked in and they offered me $700.00 more for my Camry than they offered last December. That brought the price up to $11,500. I bought a 2006 LE crew cab 4x4 with bench, big tow, offroad, and mats in granite for $850.00 over dealer invoice. What is unique about this dealership is that with purchase of a new vehicle they give you 1. free oil changes for life. 2. service loaners. 3. and a 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I could have gotten the truck for $500 under dealer invoice at a couple of locations around here. But opted to pay $1300 more for the oil changes, loaner vehicles, and powertrain warranty. I have since ordered amsoil rear diff fluid, and a new rear diff cover that holds 3/4 of a quart more fluid to minimize the heat problems. I`m supposed to take delivery on Oct 4. I`ll let you know more when it arrives and would appreciate any suggestions to preserve the life of the truck as well as pre delivery inspections. Oh. And I was able to retrieve the $1000.00 from Toyota that I left as a deposit last March. I`m in heaven!

Well it sounds like you held out and got exactly what you wanted. Good for you. But I don't know about the "Pizzazz" in you desciption of the Titan. I would have left that out and kept it to myself. You'll be VERY happy with your decision!

I can say that because I'm only nine months younger than you...

Still sounds like you got an excellent deal.

Well happy birthday to you. I don`t know about you but at my age birthday`s take on more meaning. What does NIN stand for? My favorite show is called Weeds on Showtime. A buddy of mine referred to Weeds as Desperate Housewives on dope.
