With all of the brake problems I've seen on here, I've never seen this one.
I have an '05 KC 4x4 with about 3200 miles. At the second that I touch the brakes, I get a squeal for just a split second, and then it goes away. Anyone else have this problem??
Well I have an '05 SE 4x4 with 3,500 miles and I have the same damn noise...

I know, I know, I just don't feel like pulling tires and wheels and tearing into the brake system on a brand new truck. In fact should I do decide I have time I will just use the grey graphite brake lube that comes with all my Honda brake pad sets, and ironically enough, HONDA seems to use it AT THE FACTORY...

I don't wanna take the calipers off a brand new truck either....and I shouldn't have to! I'd take it to the dealer, but they are 50 mi. away.
I wish I would get the judder so I could end the brake dust problem! If I have one of the "tweeners" that got the new rotors, but the old pads, can I get the pads on the basis of the dust????
WD40 guys. Apply liberally to rotors and pads. It will stop that unbearable chirp. Do it often and soon the brakes will be totally silent. The truck, too.

Rotors & pads huh? Thanks for the tip, but I like to stop.....

Mine did the same thing at about the same mileage. It went away on its own after a few hundred miles and hasn't been back. BUT now I've got about 9500 miles on it and it's beginning to judder.
Sucks that you got a "tweener" with the new rotors old pads. I'd think the dealer would work with you about getting new pads. Everything I heard says both were contributing to problems so ask to have it changed. Worst they can say is no. Also what's your build date...are you sure you got new rotors?

I'm pretty sure its a "tweener". My build date is 05/05. I have what I would consider to be an unacceptable amount of brake dust. I tried to get a digital set of calipers in there to measure, and they appear to be the thicker rotors (based on the dimensioned picture that was posted on here somewhere). It was a bit dark when I measured, so I'm going to do it again with a little more light....I'll post the results.....
Well, I called the dealer today on the squeal & the dust. The service mgr. had never heard of the squeal before. When I mentioned that I had heard that the "permanent fix" cured the brake dust problem, she said that it was not possible to cure the brake dust. Can someone give me a the name of a dealer (svc. mgr.) who might back me up on the dust....maybe they will listen to them.
I couldn't give you a dealer reference because they are clueless where I go. However, I can testify that the new rotors and pads got rid of 90% of my brake dust.

That after market fix may be more trouble than you want.
I wonder how temp stable that fix would be. Perhaps that tour bus that caught on fire had the prescribed fix and when the brakes heated up the goop caught on fire.
Best to go to the friendly Nissan Dealer and have him fix the truck and keep the records.
