The standard mirrors and optional towing mirrors on SE models change from chrome to black.

Wow, I'm glad I got a 2005, the chrome mirrors really add to the look of the SE and LE because of all the chrome.

And FWIW- I think there is some kind of ommision in the 2005 listing of changes. I know I got a '05 4x4 Big Tow without VDC, and if I had gotten an '04 4x4 Big Tow I'm very sure I would have gotten VDC standard. And for the record, I'm thrilled I don't have it.

With the 2005s, you had to get the air bag package to get the VDC, excluding XEs and Off Road E-Locker package. VDC was part of the BT package in '04 but was ommited if you had the OFF Road Package w/ E-Locker.

Have a good one.

Re: Nissan Titan History (Model Year Changes)

An even nicer idea would be to update the 'mechanical' and design changes that aren't related to features but to design flaws and reliability problems. This would be what I'd be more interested in seeing. Any Nissan Engineers care to share?!?

Have a good one.

Re: Nissan Titan History (Model Year Changes)

My '04 4x2 CC was advertised as an XE. I bought it used. From what I've read here it sounds right, but I have a 6 disc changer and a grey rear bumper. Either way as long as it's a TITAN I really don't give a crap about the other stuff. It tows my trailer over the Laurel mountains better than my Ranger did.

Re: Nissan Titan History (Model Year Changes)

Well, it is hard to believe we're discussing the "history" of the Titan. It seems like yesterday when I took delivery of my truck. So hard to think of it as two model years old now!

This is an informative thread for people who are looking to buy a used or new Titan.

BTW, I noticed the mirrors on the SE are now black. Glad I got the chrome ones.

Re: Nissan Titan History (Model Year Changes)

For '06 the step rails became optional vice standard on the cc le and they are not available factory installed with the OR package. If you got '05 cc le with OR package did it delete the step rails?

We think alike Mr. Contra. I would like to see the new radio and see some specs to make sure it will fit the 2004 before I make the investment.

Re: Nissan Titan History (Model Year Changes)

Got me a limited slip on my 05 2wd SE, 04 didn't have that but it did have the VDC which was annoying to say the least. I always shut it off because it cut so much power when a tire would spin as they do on a 1wd. I wish the mirror still had the compass and temp in it, that moved up to the overhead console on the 05s (not as convenient to look at and the compass is annoying with the way it works, just put the arrow in the middle and let the directions move, don't make me take my eyes off the road and than look for a little arrow to boot!). Last the 04 had 4 fan settings and off... the 05 has the knob that is variable, no set speeds. For the record, this smoke 05 has the silver wheels.

Re: Nissan Titan History (Model Year Changes)

Duh, forgot... had the perferred w/bench in the 04 and the 05 has the same. There is an 8 way power drivers seat in the 05 and they kept the lumbar support too!!!
