Can I get the TPMS to work on a base XE?

When I purchased my Titan, I had the dealer install 18" LE 6-spoke wheels. Since I have the tire pressure valve stem monitors already installed on my wheels, is there a way to get the tire pressure monitor system to to work on my truck?

I never tried airing down my tires below 28psi to see if it would work as is. However, it couldn't be that easy. I'm guessing it would take more than just the valve stem sensors to get the LTPWS system to work on a base XE. Correct?

If so, do I need to get BCM programmed by the dealer to get it to work or are there more parts involved?

miketan,
Works on my base XE. I had my sensors removed from my XE steel wheels to some OR wheels and the system works fine. As long as the dealer installed the TPMS valve stems/sensors in those LE wheels the system should be working right now. David.

My base 05 XE came with tpms...

i'm not understsanding your question, is the tpms indicator glowing on your dashboard (I believe it looks like this ((!)))?...

if that light isn't on, your system is probably active and working....did you check your window sticker?

the tpms looked to be a standard option on my truck....

I put LE spoked wheels on my 2004 XE Titan and the TPSM worked fine - the only issue I ever had was on extended highway driving at 70+mph the light would come on - but that was an issue quite a few of us had and had nothing to do with the wheel swap.
