I'm Fed Up!

Ive had my titan just over a year....~22k miles....and my 3rd set of brakes have the jidders.

I am fed up.....everytime I go in, they promise me a fix, but I never recieve one.

my last trip in, they said they would replace the rotors with the same ones and put me on a waiting list and give me the 'updated rotors' when they came in. I have yet to hear from the dealer after 6+ months.

Anyone filed suit over the lemon law because of this ongoing brake problem? I'm about to. I hate this truck.

That sucks, I went in the first time for the brake fix and got it without even asking for it..

I understand your frustration, but to say that you hate the truck because the dealer you are working with is a jerk is just stupid. While the brake judder is annoying, it certainly isn't life threatening in any way. It won't classify as a lemon law issue since there is a proven fix available. You just have to get the dealer to do the correct work.

Did you ever think of going to another Nissan dealer in your area? Nothing says you have to go to the same dealer that you bought your truck from.

I went through 3 sets of brakes in 18 months before Nissan finally figured out what the real problem was and the 4th set has been fine ever since. You have been through 3 sets as well.

You do know that they know what the problem was and are installing the correct sets now, right? They even sent out a letter that gives you an additional 36 month warranty on them.

It also might be a problem if you go into the dealer with the same attitude you showed in your post. I know I wouldn't give you my best work if you came in shouting or threatening to file a lawsuit.

I can understand your fustrations, I had a few share of it. See if you can go to a difference dealer. I myself just started getting the judder so I would be taking it in soon. I however will go to a difference dealer since where I got my Titan from have nothing but idiots working there. Goodluck.

I have already been to 2 different dealers; both of them gave me the same response. ...my patience has worn out. I have given both dealers the benefit of the doubt to fix the problem, but both have failed. I have already contacted a lemon law attorney for a free consultation to see what I can/should do to finalize this issue with my truck.

if you go through an attorney it will take longer and cost you twice a fortune. Just call the better business bureau or go to their website. Their service is called the auto helpline and they arbitrate for you (for free I think) and can arrange a buyback or refund. They are streamlined and efficient. Many people on here have great success with this method.

from what I was just told from the attorny was that it needs to be in for service for 4-5 times and a total of over 30 days. Since the car has been in serice only twice (soon 3 times) and both times it wasnt even left in the shop overnight, then its not qualifying under california lemon law.

so I guess im stuck with this POS for awhile longer.

it sucks that i have a truck ive spent over 25k on that im not even motivated to wash because i regret buying it.

I gave up on messing with the car dealerships, and bought my own safety by buying a set of power slot rotors and bobcat pads for my front end and ended the jitters and it stops the truck really good. My cost was about 290$, and to me it was welll worth it.

I have had no luck getting the brake judder fix for my truck yet! I still get the run around by adding me to a waiting list. Anyone know of a dealer around the Greenville/Spartanburg South Carolina area that has the fix instead of "waiting list"

If my brakes had the "jidders" I would have to tell it to lay off the coffee!! Ah bad joke, but in all seriousness I would have to agree with everyone else, I guess I would see about contacting the next closest dealer that will give you the fix and maybe making a weekend vacation out of it, if you could get in in on a saturday. The dealer that fixed mine had it done in like 4/1/2 hrs. and the brakes have been flawless. Good luck and dont give up!

Beaker take your truck to Empire Nissan in Ontario. They have tons of the new kit and put one on my 05 without me even asking. Great service department to. I think they're open like 18 hours a day or something crazy like that.

Regards,

John

I guess I lucked out, my brakes were totally replaced at 4100 miles. I would definitely try a new dealer.

Double check on this, I believed it's either 4-5 times for service on same problems OR more than 30 days not both.
