Nissan's comments about performance of Titan in market

Found this today. Talks about the Titan missing its sales goal of 100K, but Nissin is happy with the 90K+ they've received. Also talks about the future of the Titan.

It also says how the current and past Tundras stink but the '07 is worth worrying about. Good read.

I'm pretty surprised that they aren't able to make their sales goals of 100K. Seems like it should be pretty easy given the price, performance, and features our trucks have. I see a blue million of those Ferds around town. I was going to get a 2 tone blue w/ sunroof instead of the Titan and I'm sure glad I didn't now. EVERYBODY owns one of those dumpers!

It may soon be time to trade in my titan for a Tundra. Not at those prices.

I wonder if the '07 Tundra will use that same cheapo plastic bed and utilitrac knock-off? I hope not for Toyota's sake.

Tundra's stink?

Congratulations to Nissan and the Titan for placing first in Truck Trend magazine's best PU competition. It is worth noting however that my brand new 05' black Double Cab Tundra is bigger and longer than the Titan. I get better gas milage and I am faster than you from 0-50. Tied at 0-60 and just .1 second slower in the 1/4 mile. The Tundra has by far the smallest engine and yet it is as fast or faster than the competition. Amazing!!!!

It will be a cold day in hell when a Double cab Tundra will keep up with a Titan. My Dad has a 2003 Tundra 2X4 Extended Cab and my 2004 Crew Cab 4X4 Titan with BT will walk his truck. I am not knocking the Tundra by any means, lets just be realistic.

I am informed, are you???

Yes, I did join a year ago. I seriously did consider getting a Titan and wanted to see what was up. What I saw was that the Titan was plauged with first year problems. The first year Tundra was also (I owned one). The Titan looks cool and manly. The front end of the Tundra looks gay. The rest of the truck however is great. As far as my first post.....Its all true. Why don't those of you with jobs go out and buy a current copy of Truck Trend and attempt to read it. As far as the individual who is trying to compare his Titan to an 03' Tundra- are you ignorant? The 05' Tundra has VVT-i which increases horsepower by 38 and torque by 10. You people should educate yourselves before you respond.

Silly Troll, you need to get a clue. Ooohhh you have VVTI, WOW! lol and that VVTI makes a whopping 271hp-313lbs.ft of torque at the crank in your 2005 Tundra according to Toyota.com http://www.toyota.com/tundra/specs.html . I'll let you in on a little secret, our Titan's put more horsepower and torque to the REAR WHEELS, BONE STOCK! Stillen Supercharger Dyno Graphs!

You get better gas milage? Tundra-15cty/18hwy Titan-14cty/19hwy. Your Tundra is faster? You wish, since the last Tundra runs like a 8.8sec 0-60 and performance testers have said the 2005 Tundra feels "only moderately faster" than it's previous model. Your going to need more than a measely 271hp/313lbs-ft. to beat a Titan which is rated at 0-60 in 6.9sec 1/4mile in 15.3@90.4mph(want to know another little secret? some stock CC Titan's have run faster times than that).Your truck is bigger and longer? Damn that must suck to have less interior room than a Titan with your bigger and longer truck, along with having less horsepower and torque at your crank than a Titan has at its rear wheels.
