D-Love, they are the same size as far as what each tire said on the side (stock vs the BFG's) but the BFG's feel/seem/look bigger to me. Maybe it's the aggressive tire tread?
I will try to post a pic from the side tomorrow.
Heres the break down on cost
1. BFG TA/KO (285/65/18) 269.99 x4 = 1079.96
2. Tire Disposal Fee = 12.00
3. Road Hazard warranty 26.99 x4 = 107.96
a. Lifetime wheel balance
b. Lifetime tire rotation
4. Wheel alignment = 89.99
(1 year program)
5. New tire fees = 4.00
6. Shop Fees = 13.32
7. Taxes = 73.04
TOTAL___________________________= $1,380.27
#2, 5, 6 are BS fees. # 7 is always BS, but what can you do. #3 and 4 I wanted. All in all the extra crap came to about 226 bucks. I'm sure you can do better if you can find more than one place that has them.
You have the wrong mag.You might as well just read the ads.
You must be reading a different mag.CR rates quality(if you consider reliability quality) very highly-no matter how "good" the car is otherwise,it won't be recommended if past (or predicted) reliability isn't at least average. The regular moto mags IGNORE RELIABILITY which is why a POS like the recent VOLVO SUV could get MT's SUV of the year award despite Volvo having a poor reliability record.Heck the freakin ENVOY got the award the year before!!
NONE-REPEAT-NONE of the regular moto mags give any thought to past or predicted reliability when they test the vehicles they tout. The vehicles they test are ALL RINGERS!!!
The moto mags do zero standardized mpg testing!!(And yes I wanted to know the mpg my truck will get,so don't hand me the "you shouldn't buy a V-8 if you want fuel economy"If I wanted really miserably economy I would have bought a Hemi.)
If you like to see how well the ringers perform during 1-2 day tests, then read MT,C&D.Go buy an Envoy(or worse-that Volvo SUV).
CR collects their own reliability data-the moto mags have no reliability data.
The Titan-in it's 1st year- was recommended because Nissan had adequate past reliability.
I want REAL TESTS ON REAL PRODUCTION LINE VEHICLES.Apparently you prefer tests on hand selected ringers. You might as well just read an advertisement.Thanks.Charlie
PS CR knows enough about testing to know that they will be given ringers by the factories-MT,C&D and you apparently haven't figured that out yet!"one born every minute."PTB

You should have shopped around. TireRack has those tires (in stock size) for $185. Not gonna be that much more for 18s.

And I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that Take the wifes car in for an oil change, and leave in a new pathfinder. Boy was she hot under the collar when I did that! . Since then I bought her a Maxima and I sold the Pathfinder to my sister, so that I could buy the Titan.
This is amazing.hahaha..I went in for an oil Change on my 05 Titan, and came home in a 06 Titan...the things we do....LOL!!!!!!!!!
Those maxima's are sweet. My wife has one. Awefully quick for a full size 4 door sedan. I toasted an '05 Mustang yesterday with it too.

HudsonValleyTitan,
I did shop around alittle. I went to Sears, Tires Plus, Discount Tire, Tire Kingdom, and 2 mom and pop type places. I checked on TireRack.com
Here is what they have to say on their web site as of today, and when I checked last week and the week before. I copied and pasted this,
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO (Off Road All-Terrain)
Size: 285/65/18
Raised White Letters
QR Speed Rated
Price: $216.00 each
Estimated Availability: Not Available
This is what I heard from every place except Tire Kingdom. "Not available". Sears even said they called BFG direct and they (BFG) said, "not available". Believe me if I had seen these tires for $185.00, I would have gotten them, where ever they were.
Looks good. If anyone has a Sam's club close, they're cheaper there. Also, PepBoys will beat any price by 5%. You can show them the price of Sam's and then get them cheaper at PepBoys. That's what I'm going to do for the 17" tires. http://search.samsclub.com/eclub/sea...&doSearch.y=10
You have the PRG lift no? I just got the same tires and although they look good, I think I might be a little disapointed after spending $1100 on them. They are not as beefy as I expected. Well...as long as they last longer than 19k like my stock Goodyears that will be a good thing. .
285/65/18 right?

I'm not crazy about how the All-Terrains look on the Titan. particularly on the front. Looks like the old rear tires on the front. I sure hope they perform well for you.

vw1972bugs, I have no lift or leveling kit of any kind. Just a stock 04 SE CC 4x4. You are correct on the size 285/65/18.
So far I like the tires just fine, including the looks. Hope they wear well.
Congrats on the New tires and Max for that matter.
I love my 03 Max, there are a few other 4 door sedans that can compete with it but not for the price. My experience with both vehicles has only been at 6k feet altitude(CO). Max is definately faster than the titan here. I like the new tires. I've used them before on Jeep vehicles with very good results and wear. They weren't good in mud, but the mud here is like clay. Other than that the BF AT's were great.
I have a 04 Titan and 03 Maxima. My Max is a 6 speed manual and my Titan only see's tail lights in a race! Not even close. Car and driver got a 6.0 to 60 and 14.6@96 with a 6 speed max compared to the Titan magazine avg of 15.5@89. People have done better in Titans but people have also run low 14's with their stock max's also. Good choice you'll like the Maxima although I like the 03 body style....
