Wrecked!!!!!

well yesterday i was on my way to the collision center to get a few things fixed on the titan, and what do you know, i get hit by a speeding cavalier. so from a visual inspection the rear axle is bent and the bed is destroyed, leaf spring is broken and the bumber needs to be replaced. i will know a little bit later when the collision center calls me back but it is in pretty bad shape. only good thing i see coming out of this is since i have an '04, i get the new rear end. but i could have picked a few other ways i would have liked to have gotten it. just thought i would vent for a little, thanks guys!!

Well that freakin' sucks! Sorry to hear man. Maybe it will be total and you can get the '06. The crappy part is the car will never be the same.

i will try, i am supposed to meet the adjuster this afternoon. it happened on altamere in west fort worth, almost to I30. im just glad that even though the cavalier was totaled, no-one was injured, just stiff backs.

yeah, a cavalier, but just as always, you should have seen the other guy!! i did get much less damage, considering that it was totaled and mine is repairable.

You want a new 06 Titan? Walk around with a neck brace. J/K...Sorry for the bump on your truck. IMHO...if the frame was not bent, I think your truck will be o.k. They have came along way at the collision centers now, especially if you use a reputable one. Don't settle for anything less than OEM parts for your repairs. Good Luck.

Ryan,

If yours is not a 4x4 then you could use this opp to get a heftier rear diff and axle. How fast was the cav going and how fast and in which direction were you going. Please post some pics, looks like the crumple design did just that.

Sounds like the cav burrowed under the truck or something lifting the Titan off the ground!

I would have that frame checked by someone that really knows

what they are doing. If it's bent it's '06 time. I wouldn't settle for a straightened frame.

no, its not a 4x4 but i checked with dynatrac on a basic dana 60 and its gonna cost 3600 with shipping, when a factory 44 will only cost 1150. so i dont think the insurance company will go for that. the cavalier was going about 75 to 80 and hit me right behind the cab on the passenger side. i dont think the frame is bent, but i wont settle for a straightened truck. yeah, the cavalier did go under the truck, but i was luck that it didnt even scratch the cab, so i dont have to worry about leaks. i will be at the collision center on monday to look at the damage, i have been waiting for a chance to get batteries for my digital camera. but i will post them as soon as possible.

All of you who "think" they "know it all" when it comes to frame straightning live in a misundestood world. Frames can be repaired back to pre-loss condition and within factory specifications. However, it does depend on the severity ( heavy kinks, Mashes, etc).Todays computerized measuring systems are excellent!

Yes, I am one of those who has the qualifications when it comes to collision repair too make this statement.
