Question Need Advice on a deal im about to do

I found a 05 that I like at a local dealer.

MSRP is 37070
sale price is 31876
add in tax and stuff and the price is 33777

now the truck is a demo and has 5k miles on it. Do you think its ok to ask for 30 or 31k out the door or see if they can do a good deal on my trade in. Thanks in advance for the help.

More details would be good but... 5,200 off MSRP for an 05 with 5K miles on it? I'd pass!!! I'd be looking for this deal with 14 miles on it (brand new)

Given the MSRP of 37K I suspect an LE. Anyway an 05 demo, I would try to knock a few more grand off. They gotta make room for 06.

baseballfanz is right. you're in the driver's seat now. you should get at least a 3000 more off. you might want to shoot for a larger number and negotiate down from there. good luck.

I got my 04 LE CC loaded minus the Nav. as a demo w/ 6k on it and total financed was $30500 (no money down). Not a blockbuster deal but one I was satisfied with. A loaded truck with full warranty at a lower price. With that said...I agree with baseballfanz. They can still move another 2-4K.

Offer them 25k..........if it's an LE. SE....offer him 22k. I paid 22k for my brand new '05 Texas Titan CC SE and it stickered for $30,991.00 It is late October, and I'll bet that dealer wants to move that '05. If you're offering as much as you are, then Congrats because you'll have that Titan in a hurry at that price.

Not a good price for a demo, I would do that price for new. At least get another 3 to 5 k off or walk.

Does not sound good to me. My LE had a sticker of 36.5, 12 miles on it and I got it for 28.5 2 months ago.

I would not pay more than 28 for that truck with 5k miles.

A vehicle loses about 20% of it's value as soon as it is driven off the lot regardless of whether or not a little old lady, a hot-headed teenager, or a salesmen did it.

That vehicle is worth $29,000 maximum-out the door.
Do $30k out the door-no more.

SELL YOUR VEHICLE PRIVATELY! DO NOT MIX THE TWO. It's a numbers game when you trade in/buy.

I paid $4K off sticker for a brand new SE as well. A demo with 5,000 HARD miles should be a lot cheaper than that.
