I noticed you are thinking of using your Titan for Towing as well. I have to tell you that the CAI are cool, but can get VERY loud and anoying while towing... When you are pulling a long hill in third, it will drive you out of the truck. Drop a K&N in it and do the Airbox mod and enjoy....
There is no BEST intake. They all give about the same numbers give or take a horse or two. Stick with some of the top name and you'll be find.
Volant, AEM/Fram Boost, Injen, K&N. I have heard a few folks getting a code with AFE.

I second this if you ever plan to tow with your Titan.

I agree. I did the K&N AirCharger and found it terribly loud when towing. I have a pretty heavy farm tractor and when it has an impliment attached and loaded on a 24 ft. equipment trailer, the whole load is just over 8,000 lbs. Although my 4x4 Offroad Armada tows it just fine, the volume when getting up to speed or passing or climbing a hill is enough to wake the dead.
So I did the airbox mod with a K&N drop-in. I am very happy.
BTW: This completely stock Armada (except for the intake mod) runs high 14's in the quarter when the weather is very cool. 14.8's and 14.9's. Obviously no trailer in tow. lol.

I've been thinking of doing a CAI as well. I use my Titan for fun and the main reason for buying it was for towing my 6000lb boat. What is this airbox mod? I dropped in a K&N air filter already, can I use it on this airbox mod? Tell me more about it! Sounds like it's quieter than a CAI? Does it perform similarly to a CAI? Big difference to justify the noise?
I like the K&N. I bought and installed a Volant and finally took it off due to the very annoying vibration/hum it created. Bought a K&N and the quality of construction is WAY better than the Volant. Look at the two side by side and I think you'll agree.
K&N also provides filtration specs for their filter membrane material while Volant does not.

John
