I do like the aluminum ones though. hey hemi, nice truck (again)!!!!! gotta love that hood.
Thanks (again)!!!!

Grunge,
Getting back to your question, I personally have never had too good of luck with chrome plated wheels whether or not steel or alloy when winter salt hits the road.

My Millenia came with alloy chrome factory wheels and the salt corrosion also attacked the back side of wheel, lifting the chrome plating and pitting the aluminum underneath.
That said, I now have chromed "Big Wheel" six spoke wheels on my Titan but will be changing back to factory wheels (was able to keep those) in another month before salt hits the road.

Only helpful suggestion if you go with chrome, be sure to also maintain backside of wheel to prevent salt deterioration. Good Luck.

i realize that you probably don't have the cash or you wouldn't be asking this question but here 'might' be an answer. i grew up in minn. with the thickest salt/sand trash any blacktop has ever seen and i would not chrome any wheel or even any stock wheel off the lot and expect it to last for the long term. just look at the cars themselves, they don't last many of those winters!!!

anyway, i chromed mine (it is WELL worth it IMHO) for under $600. you can get some stock silvers WITH tires for around 600-700 for an extra set or some steel ones with tires for about 300-400. (check the for sale section here from time to time) so for about $1000 you could have awesome chromed rims and a extra set with tires.

check out the link in my sig below for pics and contact info on the chroming. again, apart from the PRG mini lift i did, chroming the 18's was second!
