Fog light question

My 04 XE 4x4 OR Titan had fog lights that I know for a fact were able to be turned on without needing the headlights turned on. My 04 SE 4x4 did not come with fog lights but is prewired for them. I plan on buying the OEM lights including the new headlight stalk. So how come the fog lights will only turn on with the headlights on and when the brights are turned on, off goes the fog lights. I like the look of just the fog lights on. Any ideas??

you could just wire in another switch so you could turn them on by themselves AND have them come on with the other lights, OR you could just now use the factory harness and wire them up to another switch.

My 2004 XE Crew Cab Off Road 4X4 Titan could NOT have the fog lights turned on without first turning on the headlights. It's built into the stem so that the fog lights won't turn on unless the master switch for the headlights, are turned on. It was the same with my Nissan 2000 SE 4X4 Xterra and my 2005 SE 4X4 Pathfinder.

Sounds like you had some type of aftermarket kit on your 2004 Titan that bypassed the headlight master switch.

If you bought it new, and you had factory fogs (ie...XE w/Off-Road pkg)....fact or not, the fogs did NOT work w/o the low beam headlights on. If yours did then they were somehow rewired to do so. No Nissan factory fogs will come on without the low beams...none.
