Haunted Front Seat.

I just read the November issue of Car and Driver and they had a long term review of the 04 Titan. They mentioned one of the few probems was a "haunted" front power seat who's back tended to move forward when in park. I KNEW I WASNT THE ONLY ONE! This has been "haunting" me from day one. I was never sure but it just seemed like I was haveing to adjust the seat every time I got in. Anyone else notice this? I know what the dealer is going to tell me....."we cant reproduce it."

Its called "your *** is too big to be sitting on the edge of the seat"
I have no room to talk as it happens to me all the time, sometimes it will move back while driving.
Basically what happens is that the switch control isn't protected from the pressure of the cushion and when just enough pressure is applied, the seat switch contacts connect and the seat moves on you.
Sometimes the seat-back moves, sometimes the seat slides forward or back.
The easiest solution is to unplug the seat. Look underneath, find the plug and detatch the connector.
I thought about rigging a power on/off switch but I don't need to move the seat enough to wire that in.

that what i thought at first but it actually moved once when i was out side the truck showing it off to my friends. both doors open no one in the seat and you could hear it and see the seat back move forward.

LOL....Well that certainly is true, but I had my gf check it while I was sitting and it came nowhere near hitting it.

Remember too, that the keyless remote is tied to the seat positions and the seat will move to your preset location when you click it. Took me over a month to figure this out, and to finally take the time to set the seat memory to where I wanted it, instead of where it was just set. I'm better now that the medication has changed!

I've known it moves on it's own for months now. I was wedged in a parking space against a halfwall, so I climbed over the console and out the passenger door. When I reach in the backseat for my briefcase, wrrrrr, the drivers seat back comes forward a good three inches. It doesn't happen every time though which is odd, maybe about 40 to 50%.

Re: Haunted Front Seat.

I have the same problem with my 05 CC. I figured I was bumping the adjustment switch when getting in and out.

Re: Haunted Front Seat.

Glad I am not the only one! Thought I was losing it. Every few days I have to adjust it.

Re: Haunted Front Seat.

Yes this happens way too often. I thought it was just me, because I don't have running boards. It gets to be kind of a pain. I think the adjuster should be redesigned.
