Question How much for extended warranty?

Hi. I ordered an 06 Titan that will be delivered in December. I was wondering if those of you out there who got an extended warranty from the dealer would mind telling which one you got and how much you paid so I could have an idea of what it will cost. Thanks.

I passed at the time but if I had it to do over again, would probably go for it... not that I have really had any problems. It's more that I read of the problems others are having.

Whatever you do, reject it the entire time you are signing papers... my guy started at around 2k to extend the bumper to bumper to 100,000..... after you have signed (or once he has moved past it and started filling papers) take his last offer if you want it. My guy came down to 1K.... I am thinking of going back into the dealership to see if I can still get it for that.

I have pretty much always avoided extended warranties on everything... basically, I can tell by how hard they are selling it that they have a lot to gain... which to me translates into a bad deal for me. I have read from a couple consumer gurus lately that extended warr. at the time of purchase are not really a bad deal, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for awhile. I still plan on passing on all my cordless phones and TV's though.

I got the whole kit and kaboodle for 420 after they started out at 1800. I told the finance manager she would get no penetration for more than 450, she replied how does 420 sound and I said lets do it. This warranty only costs the dealer a couple hundred bucks, everything over that goes to the finance mgr for dispursement.

I got the Gold Preferred for 756 (or somethign like that) for 5 yrs/100 miles.

Not as good as TitanFan, but not bad either.

The extended warranty really is a money-maker for the dealer, as long as the vehicle holds up that is...

Good luck, and silver is the FASTEST and COOLEST color!!!

This is what advantage nissan sent me when inquiring from a thread here:

"Hello Dennis, Your price for the Nissan Gold Preferred is as follows,
$50.00 deductible is $1100.00 0 deductible is $1334.00. No tax.
Please add $75.00 if your vehicle is over 12 months old or has over 12,000 miles on it. ( Nissan's Surcharge not ours.)
Please let me know if you wish to proceed. If you do I will need your full name, address, contact phone number, the miles on your truck and your vehicle Vin number. Credit card is the best way to go, I will call you for your c.c. number AFTER we receive your signed policy for your protection.

-Fred K. Advantage Nissan"

I think it costs the dealer around $1500.00 but he can get as little or as much as he can to include it.

I got mine free directly from Nissan after invoking my state's lemon law over the brake judder issue.

Not sure how much... added $5/pmt! But I thought it was the safe thing to do and my payment is low because I traded in a car that was paid up.

Checked my contract. $1899 60000 miles bumper to bumper. But it was a good thing I rechecked... I see that they added $699 for my chapman alarm system after I had told them "NO EXTRAS" and they said that they would eat the door edging and the alarm. Hmmmmm. I should have looked closer when I was signing.

Wow, the prices run the gamut here. I want to know what dealership you dealt with where some of you got it for 500 bucks or less...

Thanks for everyone's input. Here is what the dealer quoted me:

5yr/60k $1754
6yr/75k $2050
7yr/70k $2100
7yr/100k $2400

I consider those starting prices from his side for negotiating as I think those prices are way too high.

I could only get the dealer to go down $100 on the warranty that I got but I thought that $100 is better than nothing at all since they had already given me a very good price on my truck.
