I passed at the time but if I had it to do over again, would probably go for it... not that I have really had any problems. It's more that I read of the problems others are having.
Whatever you do, reject it the entire time you are signing papers... my guy started at around 2k to extend the bumper to bumper to 100,000..... after you have signed (or once he has moved past it and started filling papers) take his last offer if you want it. My guy came down to 1K.... I am thinking of going back into the dealership to see if I can still get it for that.
I have pretty much always avoided extended warranties on everything... basically, I can tell by how hard they are selling it that they have a lot to gain... which to me translates into a bad deal for me. I have read from a couple consumer gurus lately that extended warr. at the time of purchase are not really a bad deal, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for awhile. I still plan on passing on all my cordless phones and TV's though.
