Question How are you guys doing with your 2005's?

I am still waiting to buy. I put off purchasing a 2004 because of the multiple problems. For those of you that have a 2005, how are the trucks doing? Are there new problems that did not exist on the 2004? Did they take care of all of the problems that were showing up on the 2004's?

Hey all,

I have been following the forums for about a year. I don't have a Titan but I want one sooooooooooo bad. My truck will be paid off in about a month and a want to buy a loaded LE. The truck I have now is a 2000 F-150 XLT. I have never had one single problem with it ever. It has been a perfect truck. Its just time for something new for me. When I saw the Titan for the first time I knew I had to have one. It scares me with all the problems you guys are having with your trucks. I know most are minor but it seems to be excessive one after another. I hope that a lot of the problems that the 04's had are fixed. If I do get a new truck it will be the Titan. But I will only get it if the quality control problems are taken care of. If not, my Ford will serve me fine.
So how bout it 05 guys! How are you Titans!!! (fingers crossed)

My '05 Titan just rolled 3k miles this morning and we have not had one issue yet and getting 15.834 MPG thus far...

Might still be too early to tell on brakes yet though as our '04 didn't show any symptoms till somewhere between 6-8k miles.

Cool 05 titan

what'e up everyone, i have 800 miles on my 05 titan. i love it. this thing rocks major ***. i haven't had any problems so far but probably to early to tell. i have a LE CC 4x4 with nav, dvd, big tow, sunroof with the dark grey leather. i just put on some kaotik 20" rims with hankook 295/50 high performance tires. i recommend these tires to anyone who is looking for excellent dry, wet and snow traction. also they have a goodlooking aggressive tread. here are a few pics. titanrookie

Hey, I got my 04 in June and it is sweet. I haven't had one brake problem, only some annoying rattles and sissy issues, nothing that relates to the drive. I suspect they are weeding out the bugs day by day. I love my baby even though the gas mileage sucks.

I know exactly what you mean! I use to be one of those.

My truck was made in 2/04. Here's the "real" issues to date:

1) Radio (FM treble fade, FM reception fade, No AM reception, Quirky speed sensitive volume) which was replaced and is now excellent.

2) Rear sliding window distorted weatherstripping. Most likely alright but dealer will have window guys check for leakage.

3) Almost forgot, I have the squirly auto up window problems. On both front L & R sides. Usually just starts to go up then it goes back down and stops. It always goes up when just using standard up(not the click). This is very rare and has only happened about 4 times since I've had the truck. Nissan made a note I have the problem and when a fix is determined, it will be fixed. IMO, big fricken deal! If the rest of lifes problems were this minor.

As far as rattles, yeah it has them when cold. As soon as it warms up in a few minutes, the truck is dead quiet. In fact many of my friends comment on how quiet the truck is. BUT HEY, you know what, it is a truck and not a Caddy or a Lex, or an Infinity, or a BMW, or a Benz. None lux cars I've had, were loaded with squeaks and rattles. Hek, even my Xterra had a couple of rattles. The Titan is far quieter and it has less wear on it. So far out of all vehicles I've ever owned, the 2 trucks were the quietest when rattles and squeaks are concerned.

I'm extremely pleased with my Truck. Things do happen on all vehicles and there is that lucky Ford owner who gets past any mechanical repairs. Every GM (Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile) owner I've ever known had some major mechanic failure. Dodge vehicles IMO, are hit or miss. You either get a great one or a lemon.

What's really surprising to me is that many have had differentials that were low. Before any Nissan leaves the lot at my dealership, they check all levels. "THEN" at 1000 miles, they offer a free inspection for a check on mechanics and all fluid levels. I would expect this to be the norm with most dealerships as they share the liability in damage caused by impropper levels.

I'm glad I got an early model. It helped me save money since Titan prices were raised in 4/04 plus the longer the vehicle is on the lot, the more the dealer is willing to lose to get it sold.

Have a good one.

Got MY'05 yesterday so it's too early to tell. It's got 100 miles. It had 6 miles when I test drove it making sure it was just as ordered. (The only two people to drive it were the guy driving it off the truck and the salesman pulling it from inspection to detail.)

So far everything is flawless. But it's important for me to remember that it will be a rusted pile of junk before I know it. All our precious things will.

titanrookie.... ? for ya.
I was wondering how good dose your FM radio sound?
Is it very clear and dose it hold the stations?
I'm asking because on TiTanholic's new 05 he is not getting very good reception at all.
He also has the NAV. option on his truck, all of the 05's that I tested the FM sounded great, but none of them had NAV.

Thanks for any info you can share!

Deep.

Go to some of the Ford Forums and read the issues with the 04 F150. The Titan doesn't look bad at all compared to some of the FOrd issues
