Thanks Guy's,ya told me so!

Just want to say thanks for the heads up,for all of you who gave input on replacing the oil filter on the titan.I am so glad I read the threads ahead of time.Tonight I did my first oil change on my truck, all I can say is removing the filter was a bear, took me 40mins to spin it off. There is no reason it should be that tight-if only the guy at the factory that installed my filter was there in my garage at the time,I think I would have choked him!I will sleep better now knowing that I will not have to experience this problem again! Thanks guys for the info!

Probably installed with an air tool, maybe by a robot.

I think they got confused and torqued the oil filter to 60 foot pounds, and the cross member bolts by the tranny were put on only finger tight...

It's very tight from the factory, you also don't have very good leverage to remove it so you will likely crush the filter trying to remove it. I did!
