STILL waiting on brake parts... any advice?

I had my dealer add me to the growing list of Titans that need the brake judder fix, and they have since ordered parts, but it has been almost 3 months now and they still haven't gotten them in. They have the rotors and pads, but are waiting on the torque members.

I am quite pissed, each day the brakes get worse, to the point they actually squeek while braking. The dealer's response is to come in to have a temporary fix (machine rotors, new pads etc.) until the rest of the parts come in.

My question is, is there anyone I can call and complain to? Does calling Nissan customer service do any good? What's their number?

Call another dealer. They've been stocked now for months with the newest parts....at least that's what I was told. I waited....4 days for mine here in NY. Now they carry them as stock.

Oh, so that is why. My first thought was he was getting really screwed since many Titans are now getting the complete fix. I was going to say my 2005 was done about three weeks ago. But I didn't know about the tourqe members. I guess mine already had them.

There is still a waiting list, a month a go I was number 18, as of Tuesday I'm number 8. I been waiting about 5 weeks, but mines not bad at all so it dosen't really bother me to wait a little longer.

Yup, try another dealer. My original dealer said they could'nt tell me how long it would take. The second dealer had the parts in stock.

REALLY!! I stock the Torque members as well as all the Brake Parts, AND they just released all the parts off restriction, which means any dealer can order them as regular stock now instead of the force feed we were getting from Nissan.

Now that is the real answer! It is available so he IS getting the shaft. Also, let's say a dealer is out of stock on a certain part, don't dealers get parts from other dealers if needed or does each dealer hold on to the parts they have for their own customers.

Yes and NO, when a part is on restriction MOST dealers will not give them up, since there is limited supply, UNLESS both dealers work closely together, once a part is off restriction, most dealers will sell to other dealers for 10% over cost, and if your dealer wants to make you a happy customer, they will eat that cost and get you your parts fast.
Usually only New warramty parts for a big campaign wil be on restriction.

I was on the waiting list for 4 months before finally getting the fix!

thanks for all the replies, I decided to call another dealer and low and behold they had all the parts in stock, so as I type this my baby is in the shop gettin' new brakes. She's also getting a "bearing noise" looked at that occurs above 40mph. I will let you all know the outcome of that one in another thread.

I walked into my dealer this morning for some service and they offered to do the break swap without even asking me if I was having problems... I guess I am lucky.

the dealership I bought my Titan from actually came and picked up my truck with a rental overnight and also delivered my baby back to me the very next day with the new kit and a larger brake kit than was supposed to go on so there would not be any more problems

Yeah, try another dealer. I got mine replaced yesterday and they are stocking the parts at the dealership. They mentioned that there is no wait in getting these parts.

Maybe your dealer is on credit hold and is limited to C.O.D parts deliveries hence the delay.
