Brakes: Slotted or Not?

when I first wentr into dealershipo 3 motnhs ago to look at Titans ( ok I was slow to come around to the one of the best bloody trucks off all time) The truck I originally drove a 2005 Smoke SE CC was awesome, after sitting in back seat I was sold. Unfotuneatley I could not get a good enough deal on financing to make it a worthwile deal. Main point is this though salesman told me that Titans had all wheel Disc Brakes I was pretty stooked about this then he said that front discs were also slotted and led me to believe that all Titans were like this. I have looked at my XEs front Discs and could not see the slots.
So here is the question:Or am I blind and cant see the slots on my discs? Were all Titans originally equiped with Sloted front brakes,? Were any Titans originally equiped with Sloted front Discs? Was I gettin a whole lotta smoke blown up my Kilt by the salesman? Why is the sky Blue? Can I too be a millionaire? sorry I digress
anyone with answers for the brake questions.

I think the salesman is confused. No Titan rotors are slotted, as we usually refer to slotted rotors. There are no slots on the braking surface of the rotors. The salesman was probably talking about the internal cooling slots, which most all front rotors have.

Not sure where he came up with "slotted" unless he thinks the rotor vents are slots vs a solid disc that you might find on a mountain bike.

As for an upgrade, I have never used slotted rotors, but have used cross drilled. I found that even with Cadnium (sp?) plated cross drilled rotors for use in the snow belt of heavily salted roads, I had a number of rotors rust inside the drilled holes themselves which grew outward. One would think that the pads would grind that outgrowth down but I have had two instances on two separate vehicles with premature pad failure of the Stillen Metal Matrix pads with roughly 30000 miles of use.

Brake Warehouse advised against the slotted rotors for me as pad wear is more pronounced but are much better in reducing brake fade that with cross drilled which are better for initial bite.

I have the "cross-drilled/slotted" Big brake kit from Stillen. No problems so far!

The new brake fix for the Titan should take care of any brake issues you may have. They work perfectly and brake dust is nearly nil.

He meant to say "vented." The majority of new vehicles have vented discs (at least in the front), only exotics come factory with slotted/dimpled rotors.
