I have an early build 2004 Titan with 24,000 miles on it, and I would not trade it for any other vehicle, unless I could end up with another Titan and a pocket full of $$$.
I won't say it is better than anything else, just better for my varied usage. I test drove a 2004 F150, and it rode like a luxury car. 15 minutes later I was in a Titan, and could not believe the difference. Titans are meant for country roads, and F150s for the Freeway, (at least for the 4x4 models I test drove and own).
I commute about 80 miles a day in this truck on very twisty and roller-coaster like roads; tow with it; climb hills with it, out at Prairie City, (a California state off-road vehicle park); toss any groady junk in the bed for dump runs, (don't try this with your station wagon, I mean SUV ; and still it has tons of room in the back seat for my tall, and growing sons.
36,000 miles in the first year on my 04. More compliments from strangers than I have ever had on any vehicle I've owned (and still coming)
I am happy.

I have just under 20K on my 2004 CC truck, which is now 11 months old, and I LOVE IT!!
Also, tell those boys at your Cobra and f-body sites, that whenever they wanna race, just let me know!! I'm all over it...as long as there's at least 6 inches of snow on the ground!

I am very happy with my Titan. I previously owned a '92 LT! vette convertible and loved it also...great car, but not without it's minor problems. The Titan is the next best thing to my vette....quick and fun to drive. I am very impressed with the technology. Ok...bad brakes. But they seem to stand behind them and if push comes to shove, I can buy aftermarket Baer's or something...most vette owners do that also.
Don't get me wrong....loved my vette and miss it...but love my titan too!

Re: All happy titan owners chime in here
It's a great truck. As far as any early troubles go, yeah, I had the brakes replaced, but so what. I drive in a 'spirited' manner and give the truck a fair thrashing every day over our rough country roads. 38,000 miles and no troubles. Only the Titan has been consistenly fun and delivered on the promise of enjoyable handling and high dependability. I've owned a lot of cars and trucks, and aside from my early Datsuns, only the Titan handles like a sports car but has the capability of a truck.
I couldn't say that about my other American trucks, and yes, I've owned all four kinds (yes, that includes American Motors). I will likely never go back to owning another Ford. Who wants the recalls for safety items and wondering if the thing is going to get you home today... Lift up on the gear selector to get it to start: this is just one of the quirks I don't miss.
BTW, I posted in the 'Dealer' thread to hopefully get Nissan to take some action (kick some...) with my local dealer. They bought the Nissan franchise in the area and have not picked up on the Customer Service end of things. For the life of me, I cannot see the reason why I can't even order parts over the phone (even pre-paying) and pick them up when they come in. I live the better part of an hour away from the dealer, so two trips makes no sense. Hello, guys: Ever hear of competition from the Web??
