Re: All happy titan owners chime in here

Had to chime in, I just bought my Titan. I'm not brand loyal to anything generally. My last 2 vehicles were Jeeps. Needed/Wanted a truck to tow the Wrangler for off-road. Test drove Avalanches, 1500 crew cab, F150 a few F250s. Didn't consider the Ram or the Toyota. Toyota was underpowered for towing and many personal friends with the Rams suggested I not even consider them. Their opinion, but they are friends I trust.

The Chevy's rode great and were nice vehicles. Not as much power as the Titan for towing 6k+ on a trailer. Plus the Titan just felt tighter than the cadillac ride of the Chevy. (as a side note, I came really close to ordering a Chevy with the new Vortex Max engine. Very similar specs to the Titan's engine. However it was on restriction and I was told that MAYBE I would be able to order one in December) I didn't like just about anything on the F150. Rode like crap (my opinion) horrible steering feedback and uncomfortable. Liked a few of the F250s I drove and to be honest, my final decsion was between the loaded Titan and an F250 lariat with the V10. In the end the Titan won. The Ford was just way more truck than I needed and honestly. I just really liked DRIVING the Titan better. I'm sure the Ford would have pulled the load easier, but at a pretty large expense of gas milage and driving around a huge vehicle that I only needed to tow with occasionally.

As far as problems? I read about all of them. But to be honest, they all had them. The Fords did and still do have a front end issue with the new coil spring setup. They shimmy and shake, and the factory still hasn't fixed the problem. (BTW, I have links to all the threads about these problems) The Chevys (and I'm not sure of the years and I think it might be fixed) had an ABS brake problem that while going slow 5-10 mph and you hit the brakes, the pedal went to the floor and you had no brakes. You had to pump quickly to get your brakes back. In fact while I was AT the Chevy dealer a customer was there for that problem... and it wasn't his first time back. This time they said they were going to spray something on the abs sensor and that it should at least last for a few years.

I guess my point is... they all have problems... don't kid yourself.

I did like the other trucks, but I REALLY like the Titan. :-)

I only have about 200 miles on mine, so I can't say much other than I'm waiting to open this thing up cause holy crap there's a boat load of power under that hood!

Re: All happy titan owners chime in here

I've had my 04 CC since Aug 04. Haven't had a problem yet. I did have the brake fix done, but only because I read of so many problems on here. My dealer did the fix in about 3 hrs and gave me a free oil change to boot. I think a persons satisfaction is directly related to having a good dealer/service department. I bought/service mine at Streater Smith in Conroe. This is the only vehicle I've ever owned that I get compliments on all the time.

Re: All happy titan owners chime in here

I have had my 05 for 2 1/2 months now and like it more each morning I leave for work and I see it sitting in my driveway. Like others have said, all brands of trucks have issues. You just have to decide which isssues you are willing to deal with based on which brand of truck really catches your eye.

Happy? Heck yeah I am happy. I love driving my Titan and try to make every excuse to do so. After 45K plus miles it only gets better each time.

1 year 11 months to the day and no problems. This is not just a truck, it's an obsession. More smiles to the gallon then anything I've ever owned.

Re: All happy titan owners chime in here

I really really like this truck. I haven't had a single problem with it. It is just a blast to drive. I was complaining about the bad milage when my wife said, "No wonder you get aweful milage, you zoom that thing around town like it's a sports car." I guess I do, hadn't even really thought of it. It just likes to go, what can I say?

Re: All happy titan owners chime in here

I'm very happy with my Titan...

Great ride, low cost, lots of room.

I found a dealership that is excellent at customer service and have had my TSB's replaced with no hassle.

Re: All happy titan owners chime in here

I love my 06 Titan, Great Truck and I did a lot of research when I was purchasing my new truck. I know I was going to buy another Nissan cause I think that the reliability and performance of Nissan's is #1. I still own a 91 Hardbody too! Titans are the best truck out there!!!

Re: All happy titan owners chime in here

Happy with my '05!! Had a couple of MINOR fit / finish / rattles after a few months of ownership, but the stealer took care of all of them. Brakes were replaced under warrenty.

Growing up, my parents always had 4 GM Safari vans that had warped front rotors. GM only turned them every time and NEVER replaced them or countermeasured them. Additionally, the rear doors leaked and ruined the carpet. Took them 4 tries till they finally fixed it.

My buddies all love my truck and want me to drive any time we go out, which makes me the DD Great truck through and through!!!
