Help with Jeep Restoration

If anyone has a problem with my asking for help on your site, I will be happy to move on. But, I thought some of you might have fun with this. Here's my story..... I am in the process of restoring a 1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler (actually I'm having a restoration firm do the work). I have decided to use Nissan Canteen - I think it's ideal for a jeep application. Here's where you guys come in.... the original Scramblers came with graphics on the hood. I, too, would like to have a custom graphic on the hood and rear quarter panel. But I need help finding the ideal accent color. So, here's the question(s):

1) were there any Canteen colored vehicles produced with any accent colors, ie. striping, 4x4 graphic etc.

2)What color would you suggest.

The first two attachments show the placement of the graphics, the third shows my buddy's rig and finally, his hood separate. I hate to copy his color scheme..... even though if we don't come up with a equally impressive look.... I'm not above plagiarism

Re: Help with Jeep Restoration

I believe the 4x4 accents on the Canteen vehicles were silver with black outline. This is merely speculation on my part since I don't have the off road and haven't seen a Canteen version that did have off-road yet...
