Erroneous Dash Warning Lights

For the second time in two weeks the Diff Lock indicator light came on while cruzing down the highway. The light came on about 45 min into my 60min commute...as I said this is the second time this has happend(last time it came on at the same point in my commute). Since I was near the dealer I stopped in to show the service writer. As I pulled onto the lot the Diff Lock went out and the Slip-ABS came on...by the time I got a service writer to look at it the Diff Lock was back on again. He drove the truck around the lot to confirm the differential was not locked and the lights switched back and forth again while he test drove. He said he had no idea why it would do this and said I should wait to make an appointment to see if it gets worse. Not sure I like that idea, but if I take it in and the light isnt on I'm sure I'll get a "could not duplicate"? and have wasted a day at the dealer. BTW...each time this happens the light goes out after the truck is parked for a few hours.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Any ideas what might be causing the problem?

Add your name to the folks who are having their rear end replaced..... Here is the link Survey-REAR END FAILURES ONLY
Same indications I had.....I am waiting for my replacement to come in, still driving it too. With lucky rabbits foot in glove box........

Oh yea, they may tell you that the Slip and ABS are do to low brake fluid, I call BS on it as they filled mine back up and the next day while the truck was idling, both lights came on again.. Your rear end, like mine needs to be replaced. Tell them to run the tests they have, that is what they did to mine. Make sure you file the complaint in the link I posted here as well. Sorry to be the bad news guy......

Yomama...on a quick cruz of the poll I didnt see anyone who had the dash lights as a waring sign of failure...why do you think mine is on its way??? This seem totally like a electrical problem...No? I love my Titan, maybe I'm just in denial?

Yes, I too searched prior to taking it in this Monday, I too like you....was in denial. Either others haven't noticed the lights, or they blew them and then, the early warning lights wouldn't really matter. Have your dealer do the test, they have one. Or wait and see what happens. The Slip, ABS and Diff lock all have one thing in common......The rear end.

I did find another guy on a different site that had "Our" indications before his blew. I found him doing a Google search. There are many Nissan Titan forums.

Here it is http://titantruckforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=124 check out Jesse about half way down the page.
