Pillar Spot Lights

Here is the installation of my Unity Pillar spotlights. This is not for the faint of heart as you have to drill a 1/2 in hole completely through the pillar. The pay off is a wonderful spotlight that is adjustable. I opted for this because the light is adjustable 360 degress vs. those that are just fixed on a bracket.

REMEBER TO MEASURE 2 or 3 times before drilling and use the right template with the kit. You'll need to by the light kit and the install kit both available from the Unity website here: http://www.unityusa.com/

No going back from this mod by the way...

Re: Pillar Spot Lights

Great job. You had the invisible man drilling the hole for you? Seeing that no one was holding the drill.

I just thought of a few tips if anyone decides to do this, make absolutely sure you have the right Nissan template the kit comes with 3 pages of templates and be sure to order the right or left side pillar kit. After the main shaft hole is drilled its very difficult to figure out where the inside trim hole should be drilled, keep the drill guide in place, replace the inner-pillar trim piece then heat a coat hanger with a little torch or other means and steady the wire through the hole until it melts through the plastic on the other side. Now you have an instant reference for your lamp shaft and can drill to the appropriate size.

Re: Pillar Spot Lights

Thanks to you I did this on my F-150 Lariat. Nearly broke my wrist. Lets just put it this way, 1 speed drill with monster torque + cruise control, bit jammed into sheetmetal...it hurt. Are these H1 bulbs? I am possibly going to purchase an HID kit to put into the spotlight. I oftentimes use it as a driving light as well, along with my current HID setup (4 hids).
