I believed there's SIXTHGEARJUNKY, Got-Titan, fillup has one too but I'm not sure if he's a member here or just CT. Some of these names might be of the same peoples.
Re: how many TT members have stillen supercharger?
if that thing was priced >$3,000 or lower then i would start thinking about it.

Re: how many TT members have stillen supercharger?
I was thinking more like 1200.00. But that's probably why I don't have one. I see two contrasting mindsets in the guys in this group. On one hand we have the import tuner group who think 50,000.00 is the norm for a performance engine. Then there are the chevy guys that buy headers for 95.00, intake for 100.00, and a distributor for 75.00

OK, now how many people would be willing to cough up $3995 for this mod?
I think Steallin needs to do a little more market research before spending all the R&D money to sell ONE supercharger.
Missed the demographic here. Millionaire Titan owners only need apply.
Now don't get me wrong...I'm happy to be a member of this board. But considering that we only just recently hit 8,000 members, and there are at least 200,000 Titans on the streets today, not including the Armada and QX56 (which the stillen supercharger fits as well) I would say that there is a very high likelyhood that there are people out there that have the charger, they just don't know about our forums. Another thing I've seen is people recommending prices to stillen. Do you know how much their materials cost to make the kit? Do you know how much it cost them to R&D the kit? I don't, and I highly doubt any single person on this board knows those figures. Just out of curiousity...How much is that car (don't know the name of it) in your avatar worth??? From some posts you made earlier, that doesn't seem like an inexpensive car, and how many did they sell? Now, I say instead of bashing on Stillen, and being jealous of everyone else that can roll with the big boys. We should encourage the people that want to experiment. I see that Got_Titan got his truck running again, and yes, I'm curious to see what the issues were there. I don't post much on this forum, most the time when I do it's because I get sick of seeing people bash on the companies that support our fine trucks. I'm extremely supportive of Volant, AEM, K&N, Stillen, JBA, Gibson, Magnaflow, and all the rest of the companies that make products for our vehicles. If it weren't for them we wouldn't have anything. And if we sit here and bad mouth them, maybe they'll tell us to F-off....I don't know how much I would stand if I was them.
Re: how many TT members have stillen supercharger?
I agree with you OC, I'm very glad for the development of products for the Titan. But if the products produced are priced where most can't afford them, then the companies really limit their market. I'd love to have a SC, but can't afford the 7K plus dollars to get it. Myabe if total cost, installed was around 5K, I'd stand a chance, and so would many others, I'm sure...
I'd like to see another S/C or maybe a turbo kit some out, then prices might come down some.

Sorry for ranting...
Well just for fun you should see all my previous posts regarding this issue. As for Steallin's cost. He is way over what the components cost to produce this kit. (see previous posts for a break down) I work for one of the Big 3 in an Engineering Management capacity. I happen to know what a kit like this should cost. Its amazing that the Chevy, Ford and Dodge suppliers can do it for 3-4 grand but magically Stillen cant get any lower than 6 grand. There is about a 40 to 50% mark up on the components plus a nice sum rolled in there for R&D. I would say 30 units would cover the 6 months of R&D on his part.
As for my toy, I make no excuses, there are 17 of them in the world, the original sales price was $448,000.00. Can I afford to spend $6k on a supercharger for my Titan? Sure. Do I feel I am gettin ripped off at that price? Sure. There is no justification for the price Stillen has on that unit. Can I justify $448,000.00 for a supercar. Sure. I worked for the company that manufactured it and its part of my automotive background and history, value to me, priceless. I wouldnt sell her for any price. She is the most exclusive supercar in the world and part of my automotive history.
But you still wont find me spending $6K with Stillen for 150 hp.
I have plenty of other toys that I can spend $6k on and get a lot more bang for my buck.

Re: how many TT members have stillen supercharger?
I'm not trying to get into a war with anyone. But, it is a simple fact that you have no idea how much time and money stillen has spent on developing this supercharger. I am aware and believe that you work for the Big 3...Who sell hundreds of thousands of vehicles each year with their supercharger kits....meaning they buy their parts in bulk....meaning their build costs are less expensive. We are discussing a small business of 100-150 people. Not a multi-BILLION dollar business. And Stillen did not spend 6 months on this supercharger kit. I know for a fact....(I have actually become good friends with Steve Millen's son)...they spent nearly 2 years developing the kit. And you mention the "cost of R&D"...Do you know what it cost Stillen to have foundrys build castings? and the cost of the hourly pay that the engineers make?...I think you are forgetting that this is not a simple centrifugal supercharger...this requires much more than a simple billet plate bolted to the front of the block...So yes...are factory superchargers cheaper? Yes...do they give you the same results? No...This gives you all the benefits of the factory supercharger (3 year/36,000 mile warranty) with much more power...show me a supercharged Ford Lightning that came from the factory with over 400 HP to the wheels...
