My rear end is being replaced at this moment

They gave me a loaner this time.....a Hyundai Elantra (sp). Man they must have given me that so I would really want my truck back... I am not giving up on it yet, but if the failures occure more then once I might.

I assume that I will get the new diff cover (hopefully more then that), so I will have that PML diff cover that I ordered that may be up for sale if anyone is interested?

How many miles are you up too? I wish mine would hurry up and go out (not a problem yet and that makes me mad) If there is anything thats going to go wrong I want it to happen sooner than later.

Re: My rear end is being replaced at this moment

I bought it from Feldmanns in Bloomington, but I live in Northern part of the city so I dropped it off at Morries in Brooklyn Center.

Not yet, they just called me and said it is ready to be picked up. I'll see if I can find out anything. Sometimes they don't want you to know what was wrong.....

Grunge311,

Check out the survey on rear ends. Everyone posted how many miles. Mine was less then 7,000.

Re: My rear end is being replaced at this moment

Just picked up the truck and brought her home. The service manager told me that it was a sensor in my rear end that was going bad and that they didn't have the tools to replace just the sensor, so they replaced the entire rear end

There is definately a new rear end, with the new diff cover. Feels nice and tight, they left me the break in instructions in the truck. I am finding it VERY hard to believe that they replaced a $2500+ rear end because they don't have a sensor tool I am not buying that.

Sounds like another cover-up, don't it. They just won't give in and admit that they have a problem with the rear-ends.

I'm thinking that the only sensors are the ones that read the segmented disks.

Re: My rear end is being replaced at this moment

I also asked what was wrong specifically with the rear end, and he said that they don't even crack the diff. open. He said they take it off, put the new one on and send the bad one to Nissan. I did get a new F-150 supercab for a rental though...Man, I feel sorry for all those people who bought a ford. The truck has no balls, rides like crap and has huge blind spots behind the huge sides of the bed.

There appears to be some inconsistency between dealers. Austin got his old rear axle back from the dealer, and apparently the dealer has a few more of them laying around for the taking.
