FINALLY!!! I pulled the trigger!

I finally did it. I have ordered the Prerunner Greg Leveling kit. I have been thinking about it for the past year and a half. I can't wait to get it and then get it installed. I'm going to talking it by myself. Should be intersting. I think I have been around cars and trucks enough to get it done. My Dad was a Ford mechanic for years. He doesn't know it yet, but he's going to get to assist.

I have a question about the alignment. I will doing the work on the weekend and 45 miles from the nearest alignment shop. Do you all think it will be alright to drive?

Any feedback is welcomed.

Billy

Re: FINALLY!!! I pulled the trigger!

You will enjoy the PRG Leveling Kit. I installed mine a few weeks ago with just the basic tools. You should'nt have any problems with the install. Greg gives great instructions with the kit. As for the alignment, I drove about 30 miles before I got the alignment done on my truck the next day. You will be fine.

Re: FINALLY!!! I pulled the trigger!

Greg's instructions provide for adjusting the toe - I did mine as written and got it pretty close according to the before / after specs from the alignment.

Enjoy!!

Shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I can tell you is this...make sure that the shop that will be working on your truck has the right equipment to give you an alignment. I had trouble finding a place to have mine done since I have the 18" rims. Good luck.

Re: FINALLY!!! I pulled the trigger!

I wouldn't mind getting it for my 2 x 4 truck, but I have a few questions about it first.

1) Whenever I've seen pictures of the truck that has the leveling kit, the front looks like it's higher than the rear, like it's got 2 tons in the bed. Does it level out more over time?

2) What does this do to the fuel mileage?

3) How much $?

As a matter of fact it will probably be better that you have to drive a little bit before having the alignment done. This will give everything a chance to "settle in" after the install.
