"You'll probably see large diesel pickups and SUVs," Nissan's Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn told reporters at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan in Tokyo Friday. "We are preparing it."
In Europe Nissan's Patrol has been available with a diesel engine for years. Both my Dad and my brother have been driving them, they haul big campers and boats around.
Old news? This is the 1st official word from “the man, head honcho, big cheese” that I am aware of.
Yes Wings, I am aware but this is specific to the consumer truck line.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean with the "consumer truck line". The Patrol is just an SUV...not a commercial type truck-or did I misunderstand?
Wings my fault, Love the Patrol by the way. I have Mitsu's version the Pajero well Montero here anyway.
This is the 1st for the NA market & I assume will share no components from "Patrol" nor Nissans commercial counterparts, the only significance of the article was Ghosn’s acknowledgement of what was until now just rumor.
Nope, the Dodge Cummins is a 5.9L I-6 (inline 6 cyl), the best design out there, there is no question an inline diesel is the way to go.......its what the big rigs have.
