Exclamation Damn Whistle is Worse!

Ok the whistling is 100x worse.

Here is our main thread on this issue for those of you not in the loop:

Whistling sound when I accelerate.

I mentioned in the other thread my whistling intake after my AEM CAI the whistling at 1900-2000 RPM was started. I believe our thread consensus seemed to be the throttle body somehow was creating air movement in such a way that the whistle occurred.

I purchased an AEM throttle body to alter the air flow and see if that made a difference and did it ever; now the problem is magnified terrible.

I’m going back to the stock box, I cannot deal with this. Any final ideas or suggestions?

I have:

- altered airflow around intake with throttle body
- checked all seals and gaskets for leaks
- checked filter element and removed element
- placed sealing material around entire intake

Despite all measures the whistling remains.

Re: Damn Whistle is Worse!

I found the solution!!!

Back to stock intake and the whistle is gone

Posted the CAI for a forum member who might like a really nice intake at a great price since its used.

Wished we knew the root problem here so I didn't have to give up my kit.

Re: Damn Whistle is Worse!

An intake without a sealed box is going to whistle. If you wanted an intake without the whistle you should have gotten an AFE.

I have the same intake, with the same whistle at the same RPM....SO ITS YOUR FAULT? Kidding.
It is annoying, my theory is those two tubes that attach to the side of the intake pipe. Engine breathing tubes I believe, but they are acting like a beer bottle when you blow over the top of it, and yes being the intake is not covered, you hear it more. I have heard or I should say questioned others about their Brute Force and they claim no whistle

So go figure.. But I likes the ROAR TOO much when I get on her to want to remove it.
