I'm looking to see if anyone knows a good dyno tuning place that can look the other way of me not having cats on my truck. The guy that was going to do my truck seems to be swamped after the SEMA Show and can't do it till next year. I'm hoping to have the truck done before Christmas for an off road trip.
Jim wolf from Jim wolf technologies suggested Church auto testing I have an appointment there for Tuesday!
A guy from here in Fontana at Westech was bringing a guy from Stillen that has built a few vk56 motors, were going to tune my truck. They were highly recommended from my friend that works for Super Chevy magazine, they seem like knowledgeable nice guys but we're super swamped with work.
Cool, what performance mods do you have on your truck?
I was originally tuned at Specialty Z when I was lifted on 35s with headers. I'm currently tuned by Church Auto Testing, great experiences with both shops, professional and good at what they do!
Don't buy that intake, that's a cheap AEM knockoff that sells for cheap and it's oudated. NO intake sells for $900 for the Titan, that CL ad is ridiculous.
There are good gains from the Airraid specially with your mods, tap could get you one quick I'm sure. I'm sure it would be beneficial to get tuned with it on. Are you running the stock intake now?
Ya I have the stock intake with just the box mod. I just moved my appointment to Monday the 30th I'll get the AirAid CAI intake on Amazon, 2 day prime shipping, and I'll be good to go.
So my tuning did not go too well they were unable to tune it because my truck seems to be having some problem it seems like an electrical problem. When it was on the dyno or when you're driving it and its under heavy load like wide open throttle the truck sputters and dies.
The upstream sensors are the same part #, the rears are different and designated different part numbers from bank 1 and 2 since they have different length wires.
Here's the part number for the upstream o2 sensors; Bosch 17204
The latest version of IPDM is PN 284B7-ZE03B (black in color). It's the same size as the older IPDM just a different layout so the cover should fit without any problems unless you installed it wrong.
Update! So I figured out the problem for my truck running bad and dying. !!!!!!DO NOT BUY AUTOZONE SENSORS!!!!!! A mechanic I ran into swore up and down that AutoZone cannot make a sensor up to Nissan standards and he told me to replace the ones I bought from Autozone with OEM sensors from the Nissan dealership. So yesterday I replaced the crankshaft position sensor with Nissans and it fixed my problem with to motor dying. The throttle response still seemed lagging, so today I took out the mass air flow sensor from autozone and put the old one back in and I got all my throttle response back and the air fuel ratio was better. Now I just need to get it dyno tuned! It's been over a year since I blew the motor and it's finally coming together.
I just read everything and damn dude sounds like u had my luck, I did a stock rebuild on mine when 2 rods went through the side of my block, that was fun, I used Diamond pistons and it was suppose to be 2-4 weeks 6 mos later lol, was suppose to have engine in 4 mos but ending up being 11 mos, I had to replace all my sensors ipdm ecu and have one left to do which is the abs control module. it has forged internals running 11:1, u have a bit more power to pull out of it too, las dyno I did was 405 and 495 and we were still working out issues with it, she runs good, I deployed so it won't be till I get back to finish it. so what all did u use for the guts? Type of rods? Bearings? Head bolts? all forged internals? new valves and springs? A hub dyno u can take 6% of what ur numbers are and that's the more actual number, I was on a dyno dynamics dyno for all my runs, may take to dyno jet and see if it's comparable, good build man congrats on getting it up and running!!
