Clunk Noise in rear end when moving rr tire Side to Side.

When a grab my rite rear tire and try and push the truck side to side
it makes a clunking noise, and that nite it made a metal on metal noise and i have Royal Purple in my rear end and i have 11,000 on my truck whats the deal?

Does it clunk when you take off and stop? If so than is it the same noise you hear when you rock the truck side to side?

Most likely a clunk from take off or stopping is coming from your diff.
But the noise from shaking your truck is something else.

Just a thought, so forgive me for it, but have you tightened down the lug nuts securely? Had some neandrethal try to steal my right rear tire the other night and 3 lug nuts were missing.
