Anybody know anything about Lazer Lite Tonneau Covers?

Does anybody have this aluminum cover or have any experience with them?

I have a King Cab, and I have always wanted an Undercover Tonneau because of it being made out of ABS plastic, it would be both lite weight and super easy to maintain because I would never have to worry about a paint scratch. However, the people at Undercover are really ticking me off becasue I have been asking since February of 2005 for when they will have this cover ready for sale and all I get from the rep Mark Kidder is a bunch of crap about "oh soon blah blah blah". Well thanks to that crap I have a ton of snow in the back of my truck...

I do not like the fiberglass covers, I do not like the vinyl covers, and I do not like the folding covers so please don't spend time trying to convince me they are what I should want.

The one thing I'm noticing is the Lazer Lite does not seem to roll over the edge much, a feature I do like about the Undercover and the fiberglass versions.

I have an access cover and think that you should get an access cover too because clearly they are the best otherwise I would not have gotten one

just kidding man. Why are you having a hard time finding a undercover? Are they not out for the KC yet? I see other forum members have them, I didn't realize they were hard to get.

Are you just looking for any ABS hard shell? I think there are a few other companies out there using ABS.

Undercover has not finished their mold for the longer bed on the King Cab. The Titan guys out there with the Undercover all have Crew Cabs. I swear they could not move any slower... I can't even get any info out of AutoAnything, an on-line shop I have bought lots of things from over the years.

Man, I would love to find another manufacturer who makes a formed ABS tonneau!!!

That is the Undercover, the one I really want, but they have been jerking my chain since February saying it would be available for sale "soon"...

Re: Anybody know anything about Lazer Lite Tonneau Covers?

Alright I have had enough of this cover BS. What the hell are they really called? Who is really making them. Why does the same cover have 32 different names sold by 150 different vendors?

Sorry for the rant but everytime I think I know the name of a cover I find a website calling it something else.

Re: Anybody know anything about Lazer Lite Tonneau Covers?

Wow, this might motivate me to wait a little longer on the Undercover by VesaCover.

The Lazer Lite:
799.00 + 119.00 Shipping for Nissan Titans with the Utilitrac.
That's $918.00, and although the Undercover has no price yet I suspect it will be a couple hundred less than that...

You never said anything about a rolling hard top tonneau...Retrax!

Just kidding, but I am pretty happy with mine. They claim the rollers won't freeze in winter, but we'll have to wait and see.

It really does look good, and the usage of the Utility Track is very important to me.

And on another note, my contact at autoanything.com says they will have the Undercover for sale for the KC Titan in February of '06...

Re: Anybody know anything about Lazer Lite Tonneau Covers?

I know that I have been looking at the Lazer Lite as well. The thing that I like about it, is that it should be easier to color match, and they plan to start color matching soon. That is at least according to their web page. I am just curious about how well the ABS will stand up over time. My truck sits outside and can be in the sun fr extended periods of time. How well does ABS hold up to this kind of abuse? Does the heat weaken it over time? I do not know enough about ABS to know how well it will last. I did see that autoanything is having 10% off right now, which would make the undercover for the CC around $540 + s&h.
