Mine just went out at about 47K miles although I guess I've been hearing a whine at about 70mph for a while now. The only problem is that Nissan is denying the warranty because of my 4" Pro Comp lift. Has anyone with a lift gotten this fixed without being raped for $3500 (ex. lawsuit, lemonlaw, bbb, etc)?
Im joining the "rear-end failure club". I heard lots of clunking coming from the rearend of my 2005 CC OR 4x4 withe 60500 miles, just out of factory warranty. Will Nissan cover it? How much can I expect this to cost me???

Nissan fixed it as "Goodwill". I was hoping that I didnt have to the service manager, but they were real good about fixing it. Got the truck back in 3 days with a brand new diff. Total invoive was $3209 and all I had to pay was $32 for the oil change . It also helped that I knew somebody that knew somebody.
So far, I think I am doing ok with mine. I am at 2 years with 21,000 miles, but no problems. But I also do not take mine out 4x4ing and stick to the main roads driving.
just joined the club too, and i reported mine on nhsta...
just a little FYI, the nissan engineer told me that the diff problem has been fixed for 07 and up, HOWEVER there were still some leftover 06 parts that got used in 07 pickups... i personally dont forsee the diff being a continuing problem.
I just read EVERY word in the LONG post about vibration, and my head hurts too much to read all of this...just a quick "rear-end" question....
I have had my Titan for about a month now, and looking underneath, I noticed that my rear diff cover looked odd. It appears to be aluminum, wit vertical ribbing. It does not match the rest of the underneath. I also noticed that I had Rancho shocks, so I am assuming I have the off-road package (it is an '06 with 28k miles). The other thing I noticed is that it appears to have new Firestone tires on it.
Any way..sorry I dragged on...does it appear I have an aftermarket diff. cover? I have no service history on the truck.

Thanks in advance.
That cover is OEM. Nissan switched to a finned aluminum cover on the 05's.
