I've had no problems with mine at all, and I tow with mine. But I wouldn't count rear ends being replaced simply for a dash light staying on or flashing. Those are only replaced because most dealers won't dismantle the rear end just to replace a bad sensor, so those are not bad rear ends. They replace the entire rear end. You can/should only count those who've actually blown the spider gears...which aren't very many.

You really think that they are replacing 2500 $ rear ends for a sensor problem? My dealer wouldn't even give me a rental until he pulled the cover off and saw the broken gears.
i live in ontario, southern ca. my diff broke 2 weeks ago today the dealer said its on back order and they can't even give me a date ca. lemon law says "30 consecutive days without your vehicle and its a lemon

Sorry to hear that, but please file your complaint with the NHTSA.
I know I've seen this issue mentioned on TT, and now there's actually a TSB out to remind Nissan Techs to replace the plug on replacement rear ends/axles with the existing or new breather.
If this step wasn't performed in the past, it could explain some of those having multiple differential failures!
So perhaps at least some of the abuse accusations that many of us have made, (or at least thought), against the multiple rear differential failure owners - were not only unjust, but were actually caused by the inept service departments that were also giving some of these guys crap.
Well it must be some cruel character building Karma-like thing for those guys. Wasn't there one guy with six!
Anyone know what type of failure leaving the plug in would cause? I would guess at least axle seal failures.
.
I must have got a good one... I have about 13,350 miles on my 05 4x4, and I bet 4000 of them I've been 4hi/4lo locked...I love to wheel, I love Nissans, as this is my 3rd at only 22 years old (00 Frontier CC-sold, 05 Titan 4x4 KC, and 86.5 Hardbody-trail rig) and I haven't had one problem out of any of them, and I drive the s**t out of them, seriously... but i've been on this site (just not posting much, just reading/learning/laughing) and I have seen more posts about more problems with the Titan...I'm thankful its not me... is nybody else with me on this?, no probs?
I must have a good one also. It is an 04 Titan 4X4 KC with 18K miles, most of which are in the backroads and hills of Idaho. Not a single problem so far (knock on wood). I love this truck!
So, even the 2005's are having the differential problems??
I though only 2004's had the problem because Nissan fixed it by the 2005 model line.
I guess I was wrong....
The problem isn't huge, unless it happens to you. But it is a small percentage. There have been so 06 failures, so I don't know if nissan has really done anything.
