Re: abs light on????????????????

Hi al120hp, this happened to me at about 5k miles after a brake service (judder issue), before the brake recall. They only resurfaced the rotors and the brake fluid went down (I guess they didn't bother to check the brake fluids during the service). After filling it up the light went off. Check your brake fuilds, they might be low. I hope this helps!

Re: abs light on????????????????

If the brake fluid is low, it should cause more lights than the ABS light to come on. Brake light, Slip light, and sometimes VDC light. Just from what I've experienced. Also, if you do have low brake fluid, check your brake pads. When they get worn down more brake fluid is needed to operate the calipers therefore causing the lights to come on.

Re: abs light on????????????????

I had the problem but the abs, diff lock and slip light would come on. The problem was the diff lock switch on the differential was getting water in it and shorting. So I put di-electric grease in the switch and put silicone around and switch. No lights since!
Take care!

I had the slip+brake light came on, top off the brake fluid and it's been fine every since.

Re: abs light on????????????????

I just thought that I would let you know that my ABS lights came on right after I had the brake TSB done on my truck.

It was the ABS senser on the front Axle half shaft that went bad , I was told that I had the old style sensers and that Nissan made updates and changes to these sensers.

After replacement of the ABS Senser the light has not come on. It's been about 5 months and about 10k miles after this repair.

Re: abs light on????????????????

Last winter I replaced the LF wheel bearing. I paid $250 from a local parts place. Despite the fact that it was a by^&% 2 do without a 3/4 impact, I got it done all fine.

Last week, I replaced the RF wheel bearing . . . this time with a dealer part @ $175. Too bad a day later the ABS and the VDC light came on. I unplugged and repluged the sensor. I disconected the battery and reconnected it. Lights still on.

This is seriously suck-city since you cannot put the beast in 4WD with those lights on
