Looking around under the hood, and noticed two fan blades broken on the trailing edge. It doesn't appear to be done on purpose (like for balance) the edges are really rough. Has anyone else had this? I will bring it by the dealer tomorrow.
Yeah I have been working on aircraft mostly helicopters for over 15 years ,and have done quite a bit of accident investigation. I just noticed it by accident. I didn't see any signs of damage under the hood, maybe it has been like that from the factory. If it had broke while the engine was running there should be some damage.
Thanks, but nissan will fix it for free. There are no impact signs on the blade, and the break is very rough and irregular. Probably a defect in the plastic, I got the 5 year 60000 mile bumper to bumper thrown in when I got the truck. They will not pawn it off on me.
Kind of a "duh?" thing but be careful and not open your hood or look underneath your Titan with the engine running. If the blade comes off it could kill you.

Wow, good tip. I shudder to think how many times I have yanked the throttle linkage on a big four barrel while checking the timing with a timing light, peering over to see the timing mark on the pulley.

I really think that it was installed at nissan this way, if it had come apart while the engine was running it would have dented something, or tore something up. And yes we have all reved up an engine while standing around it, and if anything would come apart it could kill us.
