I bought my new 06 Titan on the 20th this month. The first day the truck
would stall after I started it in the morning. This would happen over and over
unless I gave it some gas right after I started it. Then it would run fine.
Two days later the check engine light came on. I brought it to the dealer 2 days ago. They told me they cant figure out why its doing that. They did say however it may be unsafe to drive and will have to have a Nissan technician from out of town come up next week to check it out.
Needless to say I am very disappointed! I've owned a Toyota Tundra for the last 4 years and never had any prombems.
Has anyone else had this happen? If so, Whats up???
Lou
I think I heard of one guy who's titan stalled out on the freeway...sounds like this is a first

OK, It sucks, you got one with a bad sensor somewhere. I had the same thing happen to my BRAND NEW Mazda B4000 4X4 that I bought in 1994.
I had the truck for 3 days and took it back for a 4 wheel drive engagment problem. The dealer had the truck for a week and I didn't even get a loaner! It turned out that it had a bad sensor. The dealership had already offered me a new truck off the lot but they didn't have my color (White) and I had a tool box mounted.
The techs were so un-use to the newer sensors and test equipment that they didn't know how to find bad ones. The service manager let me look at their schematics on the system and I told them to check the two hall sensors that I saw in the system. Same thing is used on the Army's AH-64 Apache helicopters that I've had experiance with. They swaped them with a new truck on the lot and all was well again.
Since you've only had the truck for such a short time you may be able to swap for another but I bet they will fix it soon and all will be well again for you too.
BTW .. That Mazda ... It never gave me any more problems except for a (one) alternator in TEN (10) years of service. Nothing more than routine service ..plugs, oil, fliters and such. I hope to be so lucky again.

That's a new one to me too. Nobody here has ever had such a problem that I'm aware of.

I think it's only 3 days for swapping. After that your SOL, sorry to say. I blew the tranny cooler lines off at about 7 days into ownership My first request was for a swap...the dealer was never going to let that happen no matter how much I bit<hed about it! I feel your pain though. Hopefully it's a sensor ar something that can be replaced. I know it took me a while to feel confident driving the Titan after that, but since then it has been good...with the exception of some squeeks and rattles. Good Luck.
